One of my favorite sports is basketball. I love playing, I love pulling up from there and hearing the net smack against the rim. There is something about the sound that just makes my heart pound. I use to spend hours and hours playing basketball outside. It wouldn’t matter what the weather was, I would be outside.

If it was windy, I would adjust my shot to the breeze or work on layups.

If it was raining, I would be working on corner jumpers and layups

If it was snowing, I would work on fade aways and floaters.

Then on normal days, I would spend hours on three pointers and driving. While also working on all the other things. This would also include game situations!

“Blake has the ball. They haven’t played well, tonight but somehow they are still in the game. They have 3 seconds left, down by 2; Will they shoot a three or go for overtime?”

3.. Blake inbounds the ball and jukes a defender. He goes to his left. 2, He goes behind the back and steps back, forcing a defender to reposition. 1, Blake steps behind the line and pulls up. Could he get it off? Blake releases the ball as the time runs out. He watches the ball spin into the hoop; he won the game!!!!! They won!!!!

You can call me a loser for doing such a thing, but that’s what I would do. It brought me a passion, something that helped me stay in shape and kept my mind clear. There were days that I didn’t want to shoot, of course, but I was out there the next day. I must say that all of the training really helped. I became a good shooter. I could pull up from half-court and pretty much ice it. My three-point shot was sexy. Then we moved.

It all came down to us having to move. The landlord sold our house to someone else. He didn’t tell us that he was looking to sell, but it meant that we had to move. We moved into a smaller house, with less of a yard. The houses were closer together, so I couldn’t really shoot. I lost my passion for the game and my automatic shot. I soon stopped shooting all together. I would get spurts of passion, but it would never stay.

I wanted to go to college, I wanted to play on a team. I just wanted to be better, but I never did. I quit my high school team, because I didn’t have good handles. This is something I could have learned, but I didn’t want to admit that I had a problem, this led to me failing at that dream. Sometimes I wonder what could have happened if I had someone coach me, but I don’t know.

You should never give up on your dreams. I gave up because I moved, but I still had the tools at my disposal, but I quit. This is my fault. I gave up on myself. Now, years later, I regret ever pulling the trigger. I would have never went pro, but I could have had a lot more fun than I did. My whole life has been a “what if” and it pisses me off. I hate how I give up before it even starts. It sucks. So, stay on that team, keep playing the guitar, ask that girl out, go after that job. You’re the only one to say that you can’t do something! Stop giving up on yourself. Don’t be like me!!!

Today marks a year after we hit our first deer. The night was cold. I just picked up Ariel from work as she just got off a closing shift. I was excited to see her but I wanted to get home. We usually stopped at the gas station, but for some reason, we didn’t stop this night. It was probably because of the dropping temperature, but we have to think; what would have happened if we stopped?

We made it about five miles out of Chatham. Our conversation must have distracted me for a split second. When I came back to reality, all I could see were deers. There were four deers, each standing in front of each other, as they crossed the street. I was unable to swerve or stop, so I took the hit. I smashed into the first one, the second one hit my drive side (not hard) and the last two both hit the back of the car, ripping off the bumper. We both were startled, but Ariel began to cry hysterically.

It was her first car. Her first car was just wrecked, but we didn’t want to stop. I told her that I wanted to get out of the area. She agreed. I was just ready to get home, so I kept driving. The whole ride home Ariel couldn’t stop crying. I tried to comfort her, but I also felt guilty for wrecking the car for some reason. I know I couldn’t have changed what happened. There wasn’t a way out of the situation; I did what I could have.

When we got home, I ran to the front of the car. The damage was bad. The car was most definitely totaled. The right headlight was gone, along with the hood being pushed up. The hood was one inch away feom the radiator cap. That deer really screwed that car up, but luckily we were okay.

The car ran okay for us for the remainder part of the year, but it finally died. We think it was connected to the deer, but we aren’t so sure. Either way, that happened a year ago. That night was a damn disaster and I hope we never have to go through that, again.

Deers suck, stay safe!

It’s suppose to snow today! There should be snow falling by 9 o’clock in the morning! The snow chance is in the high 70%, giving us hope that we might actually have a white Christmas, the only problem is the tempature isn’t going to drop!

In order for the snow to last it must stick. In order for it to stick the ground has to be under 32*f but the weather says it suppose to stay above 35*F all day! The snow will melt before it can cover, well unless we have a blizzard! Oh that would be fancy, but it doesn’t look possible.

Even if it snows, we still have to go through all of tomorrow(Christmas Eve) with the weather being in the mid-40s. The snow wouldnt last! But what about Christmas? There is a high chance of precipitation on Christmas. The problem with this is that the weather is calling for rain instead of snow!

For another year, we are looking at a green Christmas. This time it will be a muddy mess, though. It’s going to rain all day on Christmas, which is definitely not what we wanted! I think you guys would agree that you’re tired of not having a white Christmas, right? I know I am right! Rain doesn’t give you a giving heart! No, it gives you a sour, negative vibe that could ruin a special day, like Christmas.

I stand for moving Christmas to January. The snow always falls in January, giving us a horrible start to another year. It’s okay to have snow during Christmas, but anytime otherwise is not wanted!!!! I suggest that we make this change, immediately! I’m tired of not having a white Christmas! Are you with me? If you are, give this a huge like!!!

I love the Christmas season, or holiday season. The way that peoples eyes glitter in the presence of all their gifts and their loved ones warms my heart. The part that I love probably the most is the stockings. Who doesn’t want a sock full of wonderful small gifts?!? I love my stockings. This year I got one with the Letter “B” on it. That is because my name is Blake, well no crap right? Anyways I want to let everyone know what I expect in the stocking this year.

Hot sauce- Who couldn’t use hot sauce. I use hot sauce on everything! Even peanut butter and jelly. I use hot sauce in the shower. You name it and I use it there. But it has gotten expensive for the good stuff.

Any card games- I want you guys to know that I am actually a closet Yu-gi-oh player and recently I sold all of my cards, so I need you guys to buy me more. Pokémon is a option, but magic is not welcomed. I don’t get magic -.V

Surge- Only a few of you know about my crazy addiction to Surge. If you don’t know what Surge is, die! But anyways, I am talking kegs of Surge. If it wont fit, then wrap it! I am not that picky.

Money- I want all the money that you can give. I need it to play monopoly. I hide the good stuff up my sleeve during games in order to get the upper hand on my foes. So give me monopoly money!

Candy- If I don’t get kandy this Christmas this year, I will freaking cry. You really don’t want me to cry. Remember that giant flood back in New Orleans, that was because I didn’t get my candy.

Anything else that you can think of is welcomed, except fruit or veggies. I am not that healthy. So this Christmas I will be waiting!

I love really love two things, winter and football. The winter air is the best, as I am a hot blooded male that sweats a lot. So when it snows and the air chills, my body starts to cool down and I actually feel comfortable. Then there is also football! NFL season is coming around the corner, which means my Sundays will be full, again. I am excited about the NFL season, but there is something more amazing coming, that is football in the snow! NFL lasts through winter, which garuntees that we will be having at least one snowy game! I love snowy football games. The game is changed when it snows. The players have to take better percussion, as the snow will keep them sliding the whole game. This makes me wonder, which of the Maddens has the best “Heavy snow” football experiences?

Luckily I have most of the Maddens, as I am missing anything before 07, and 08, 11. Even though I am missing a few games, I still have enough information to bring you guys an amazing Top 5 “Frosty gridiron experiences.”

This will be graded by three things; Does the snow slow down players? (Effect of snow) Does the snow look real? How covered is the field? This will show us how the snow effects gameplay, if the graphics give us a merry experience, and if the experience is realistic, as “heavy snow” should cover the field by halftime! Lets see what game meets our standards!!!!!!

5.  Madden 09- I noticed that all the previous games were bad at keeping the snow the same, but this game at least started the game with a lot of snow on the ground. The sky is blue in the game, though, making it a little awkward to play in. The snow also doesn’t effect the game play, as I was able to run back a fumble with Brian Urlacher. I wasn’t super impressed, but compared to others, this is defiantly a 5 spot game.

4. Madden 12- During the pre-game, you get to see the snow falling, and all I can say is “wow!). The pre-game is actually better than the actual gameplay! The plus was that the snow was amazing. I would have to say that the snow was realistic as the ground was covered with snow, after Halftime!

image

      3. Madden 10- This was the funnest experience for me, and it wasn’t for the graphics, I would have this in the number 1 spot, but the snow stayed the same way the whole game! The big plus was that the snow affected the players! I was playing against the Colts, led by Peyton “The Sherriff” Manning, during the game play, Peyton actually slid on the field leading to a sack! This was after the snow slowed Hester down and caused him to trip and fall to the ground (No one was around.)

image

2. Madden 15- Let me start this by saying “I wasn’t that impressed!” Madden added a few snow piles behind the end zone, which is to make you feel that the cleaned the field before the game, and that was the reason that there isnt much snow on the field. The gameplay isn’t affected, again, which kind of pisses me off. If Madden 10 was able to add this, then we should have a bigger effect in one of the newest games. Nonetheless, the snow continues to layer on the field, and by the end of the halftime, you get to play on a packed field, yet the lines are still showing.

     2. Madden 25- The first letdown of this game was, there was no snow during the pre-game. I saw Culter talking to Marshall, on the sideline, but there wasn’t a snow flake in sight? The big plus was that, after halftime, you can see a huge change in the field. This was pretty impressive, minus the fact that all the lines are still showing. If it was snowing heavy, and with halftime only being 20 minutes (if that), how would the ground crew be able to shovel the lines? The gameplay wasn’t really affected, but I also had the amazing Forte in my backfield. Overall, Madden finally got the snow situation under control, but then fucked up in the very next game…..SMDH.

This was horrible…..Madden has changed since ’15, and the next generation games are so much better, but it upsets me that they couldn’t make snow realistic, sooner…….there isn’t even a number 1 game……

Don’t agree? Tell me what you think should be changed! Also tell me what I should analyze next!

Tomorrow will begin the journey beyond the snow. It is the official beginning to the most thrilling story, I have ever wrote. I promise that this story will keep you entertained and thrilled, but also on your seat. You will feel for the characters and learn what it means to hate some characters. I am putting a lot of time into this story, so give me feedback when you can. I am proud to give you the sneak peek of the second episode:

“The people of Fairfield began to leave, one-by-one they were dying, so they thought it would be easier out on the road. They found out shortly after that it was more dangerous than they thought. The fact that everyone was leaving, caused the leader to question his sanity. This led to the leader, Dr. Grey, to begin executing the rest of the known survivors.”

This is the unedited form of this episode, and might change during the publishing process. But this will give you a nice little taste on what you should expect, tomorrow. I cant wait to share with you guys!

Random word post

image

I wanted to give this idea a run-for-its-money, and if it does well then, I will keep it for Wednesdays. In this post, I downloaded a word generator, and I will write a short paragraph about each word. I won’t have time to think of anything clever, so you will get raw Impromptu responses. We did this in school, during speech. So, Why not try it now?
The first word is:

                               Surprise
When you think of a surprise, you probably think of birthdays. I think of babies, I thin of being pulled out of work , and being told that I am going to be father. I have always loved surprises.

                               Snow
I use to love the snow, but now since I have a hole on the bottom of my shoe, I found that the snow is not so cool, as I thought. We just got another two inches of snow, where I live. I use to run out in the snow, in my boxers. But now I live downtown, and I would hate to have someone get mad about my sexiness.

                              Russia
What is there to say about Russia? I like rush hour, does that count as Russian? I always seem to be Russian around, trying to pay my bills. But lately, my Russian is slowing down. So I rush less, giving me less stress.

                             Broccoli
The last item of tonight’s post, I got one of the best things to mix with cheese. I can’t eat broccoli without cheese. The branches on the broccoli cut off the air in my throat, causing me to choke. I once choked on this vegetable in school. No one saw me choke, so I simply pulled it out of my throat and went on with lunch.

Thanks for giving any and all feedback!
