Well what can I say? My father helped me do something that I never wanted to do. I am glad that he did because it came out perfect! My father and I like to get in petty fights, but it usually ends with a good life lesson. This being said, my father taught me something that ended up teaching me one of the best lessons ever; how to wrap presents!!!

Tis was but last Christmas that my father taught me something new. We sat around the living room with gifts to wrap, but I wasn’t going to attempt to wrap, because my hands have no rhythm. The presents sat naked and cold on the floor. They yelled for us to dress them, but we were failing them. This is when my father told me to do something, but I told him to do it, instead. He got up off the couch and began to wrap the presents, then he turned to me and told me that they were my presents, so I was to get up and help him. I got up after groaning and started to help him. Half a second later he got onto me about how I wrapped a present.

In his defense the present looked horrible, but I didn’t know how. What was I suppose to do? I didn’t how to wrap. That is when my father took me by his wing and showed me how my grandma wraps her gifts. At first, I wasn’t wanting to listen. He was a know-it-all. But I knew that I couldn’t get out of this without learning. I couldn’t get the wrapping down so I quit! My father got petty about it, but he finished the wrapping!!!

That was the end of that experience. I never thought I was going to use that knowledge, but this year it came into good use. For the first time, I actually shopped for my wife alone, but that also meant that I had to wrap them alone. I had no idea what I was doing, but then I stopped and thought. I went back to that day and thought about how my dad folded the edges and brought them up together. As I thought about that day, I looked down and I  was done with one present. The rest of the presents came with ease. I was done within a hour!!

I don’t know what this was written to say, but I think I want to tell you guys to cherish the little moments. Don’t waste small moments being mad, you never know when those moments will come back and help you out. Wrapping a present isn’t a huge moment, but it opened my eyes to see that I can learn so much from my father. Christmas is about spending time with those you love, which I can guarantee you will have a small moment that can change your life; don’t waste it!

Let us be thankful for today is another day, but also because this day is Thanksgiving. I have a lot to be thankful for as I hope you guys do, also! Some of the many things I am thanking God for are; my job, my family, healthy bodies (wife and mine,) the freedom to do as I want, and you guys.

I am thankful for this blog. I am thankful that you guys still read my material. My heart is warmed by your kind words and your heart filled messages. You guys are awesome. You guys are more of my family than anyone else, so thank you guys!

Also, I am thankful for the chance to still be here. I have been in the right place to be severally hurt, yet I always end up being safe. The Lord has looked out for me, especially with this last accident. I could have been majorly injured, yet I walked away without a scratch. Not only that, but I also was able to get a new car quickly. Even in the bad, I am still found thankful for the things that I have been through.

That is what this is about, a day to stop worrying about everything, take a step back, and thank the Lord for everything you have. You might feel like you don’t have anything, but even if you are breathing, that is something to praise God for. He gave you another day, so be thankful!!!

Happy Thanksgiving from my family to yours, I hope you have a great day. Don’t forget to stuff the bird before you stuff yourself! Also, what is your favorite dish? Mine is cornbread casserole.

Trying it out.
We all have an opinion and emotions that make it original. Emotions are great to have since it makes it you, but also it can get you into trouble if you don’t think before expressing. Being a writer , I know that without emotion this job wouldn’t make since. The biggest problem is that people don’t think before they speak. People want to be heard, whether it’s a rant or excitement, they want to be heard! The problem is these people want to spill out their anger then make it public, then afterwards think about how that will affect their life. You have to be smart when expressing your emotions, you don’t want to tear a close one down because of momentary anger.
I started this blog because of emotion. I was torn from a girl that left me and I needed to get it out. I didn’t know where else to go, because people were saying “get over it,” that is when I turned to blogging. I knew that I would be safe if I didn’t share it with everyone. The blog was my personal blog that no one would know about, that I could go post when I was down. It worked. I had so much pain built up, that I was letting it affect my personality and how I saw things. After I started to post my EMOTIONS, I saw that I was able to finally live life again, did it suck still? Well of course, but I wasn’t holding everything in.
Where that story is great, there is also another side of Blake I hate! The down Blake that likes to dramatize crap on Social Media. The last week, I was notified about past memories on Facebook. When I looked at the memories, I cringed from how down I was. All of the statuses were me begging people for attention. “I am done with this” “I hate my job” “Screw the Church” were some of the comments. I was angry at how I was treated (from the church) and I wanted to be heard. But now, after the incident, I am fine and see where I was wrong to post. I should have let it go, but instead I made myself look foolish. I posted before I thought and it made me look like a teenage girl! That isn’t me. I am not one to rant on social media, that is why I have a blog, but I didn’t think before posting. I deleted a few of the post, since they didn’t represent who I am, but I still think “What if I didn’t post that, what if I thought first?” Sometimes we allow our emotions to control us, which can only lead to danger. I was watching this woman last night, and she was talking about how she wrote a blog about her family. She was mad about Christmas and just wanted to share her thought. She posted the blog without thinking, and the person that she was talking about happened to read it. She was no longer mad abut the situation, but now she had to fix the situation with her friend, since she emotionally about her.
I am a strong believer in posting to make a change. I post dumb material to make you guys laugh, just incase you had a bad day and needed a laugh. On the other hand, I post life stories to help those in need of the same thing. Then I also post rants, but I write them in a way to not offend ones person, but to express how I feel about the situation. Such as the anthem situation. I could have posted about it, but what could I say to help the situation? I couldn’t, because I don’t fully understand it, so I choose to stay out of it. That is where I control my emotions and where I stand. If I can’t help someone through something, then why post it? I love to rant, but I don’t like the negativity in my posts, instead I aim to be a life changer. This is my purpose; to use my emotions and thoughts to bring entertainment and maybe, just maybe bring happiness into those who need it!!
You can share how you feel, but first you should edit. The last thing you want to do is say something you will regret. It is great to tell everyone about a new job, but why should you call someone out? It isn’t going to help and you might regret it after it is out there. So if you want to negatively post emotions, make sure you take a few seconds and see if you can find a silver lining, then edit it accordingly. If you are sure you want to post it, then go ahead. Post your emotions, it is the most original part about you!

One dumb move, one stupid comment and one big fail….
Tomorrow is going to be a stressful day, one that I wish was a month away. Sadly, we can’t ask for a rewind but, which mean this day is starting in less than 12 hours. This is the day that we have been working towards, for the last few months, and I can say we are ready, but I am still freaking the heck out. I am going to keep this very short, so I can get to bed, but I wanted to ask you for something.
Would you mind sending your prayers our way? I have no doubt that we will pass, but this isnt like any test, this is the biggest test for this store, ever! Corporate will be in our store for about six-hours to test how well we run the store. They aren’t going to go easy, either. They are looking to see perfection, something that is very hard to give. Usually, we only have to worry about surfaces, but they will be removing canvases and searching for things to take points for! Think of a health inspection, this is 100% more serious…. I have to say that I am nervous.
It is nerve racking to have someone grade you, its even more scary to have all your big bosses sitting over your shoulder, the whole day. This is why I need you guys to join together and say a little prayer. I don’t want to screw up and cost my store, and I know I wont with you guys by my side! Please come together and pray for me!
Love you guys!

Have you ever wanted to go back in time, or do something that you did as a child? Have you ever had times, in your life, that you missed the simple days, and wished that you could have another opportunity to make up for lost time?

When we were kids things were so simple. Life was easy as children, we never had to worry, and we could enjoy the small things. I know as a child, I was fascinated by twigs, sticks, stickers, and any toys that were available. I could turn anything into a toy, and I would never get upset if I didn’t get a specific item. I’m happy now, but I know I was happier then.

Pokémon has made a return, one that has everyone freaking out. I’m not a huge fan of Pokémon, but with the release of the new game, it has caused me to want to go back in time. I was very young when I started to collect the cards. I use to get the cards out of a local vending machine, inside a grocery store, and I still have all of my original Pokémon cards, and remember playing the Gameboy advance game. I was so fascinated with collecting every card, oh how the time has passed.

Sadly, I don’t find the classic game fun anymore. I haven’t touched the cards or played any of the games, in years. But I did do something today that will help me go back in time a little. Though, it isn’t the Pokémon game, I did buy an old favorite from Disc Replay, today. It was a game that I originally spent hours playing on the gamecube. I started many games, made many characters, and won a lot. The game isn’t super old (like Pokémon) but it is a game that will help me “go back.” This game is “Madden ’09” and it’s a fan favorite.

Back in the day, I was a big card player (yugioh and Pokémon) but as I grew up I got more into sports and sports games. I remember playing “Madden 98” on the PS1 with friends, never knowing how to properly play, or knowing who played for what team. We simply played to spend time together. It was always a blast, there was truly never a dual moment when we played. When I got my gamecube, my friends wanted to play some more Madden, that is when I bought “Madden ’07,” which is my favorite classic Madden, until ’09 came out. ’09 was the last Madden to be released on the gamecube, which is why it’s so special to me.

I don’t know why this game makes me feel so young, but it’s nice to feel young, again. Being old sucks. All I do is work all the time, and then come home and sleep. I miss the days when I didn’t have to work or pay bills. I miss the days that I could stay up all night, and wouldn’t have to worry about work the next morning. It was nice to get a summer vacation. Now, I get one week of vacation, but during those vacations, I usually sleep or work around the house. I am tired of being responsible, so God, please take me back. Take me back to the easy days, before the hard days!

Ten things that being a writer has taught me.

image

As a writer, I have learned a lot of life lessons. Some of the lessons have been needed. When I first began to write I thought you had to follow every rule. I lost my will to write when I began to stress about all the rules. But over the years, I have learned rules are meant to be broken; once I figured that out, I started to love writing, again! These are the ten things I have learned, since I became a writer!

10. I am free to think the way I want to.

9. Some of the biggest fans, are those who you push away.

8. Writing isn’t as easy as people say it is.

7. I should have cared more in school.

6. It is fun to make peoples lives a living hell, as long as they are your characters.

5. You wake up in the middle of the night, with a great idea and wanting to write.

4. All your work sounds great to others but horrible to you.

3. Writing blocks are tools to get you better, not to stop you.

2. Reading is essential if you want to be a writer.

1. I should have started writing daily a long time ago……its so FUNNNNNNN
