When I was in 6th grade, I wrote my first real story. It was a horror story and I was so proud of it, though I can’t remember what it was about. But I was proud! I proud enough to walk over to my teacher and told her that I was going to be a writer, one day. She read it and raised one of her eyebrows. She told me that it was a good start and that I was very creative. This was the beginning of something special. She told me that it was full of run-ons, but that it could be turned into a master piece; and that no matter what I do, to chase my dreams. This is what started this crazy journey. I knew at that moment, that I wanted to be a writer, and I would do anything (in my power) to become one.

I never had anyone put me down for my writing. I remember when I was in 4th grade, we were supposed to write a story, but I couldn’t because my mother didn’t have a stable home for me to write in. I didn’t do the assignment, but the teacher wanted me to read it to the class. She wanted me to read it in front of a class, a story I never wrote! So what was I supposed to do, tell her I didn’t do the assignment? Heck no! I got up, walked to the front of the class and read my story about a vicious bear, tearing through a town of innocent families. I read for 10 minutes, flipping through the pages, until I finished. After the reading, she asked for the pages, I nervously handed them over and went back to my seat. She went on with the class, asking the next student to come forward and share. The bell rang 30 minutes later; I got up and walked to the door to go to lunch. But as I got to the front of the room, my teacher called my name. My chest was burning as I turned around. “Yes, mam?” She was holding my story up, revealing the empty pages. I began to shake, knowing that I failed the assignment. She told me that I should have been honest, but that I had a huge imagination, one that could make a good career one day. She gave me an A on the assignment for the creativity, since she couldn’t tell that I was reading an empty page.

Jump ahead to my senior year of high school. I have multiple WIPs; I have a solid blog and I’m getting more confident with my talents. A guy comments on my blog, telling me that I need to keep writing. I didn’t know that people could read my blog. I didn’t share it anywhere, so it through me off when I got such love. It felt great!  I also had a teacher behind me, pushing me to use my gifts, knowing I could be something.

Now I am a writer. I write daily. I have my days where I don’t want to write, or weeks where I feel I’m not a good enough writer, but I just remember the encouragement, from my past, and I get back to work, creating more content for you guys, knowing that the people in my past would be happy with where I am now! I never stopped following my dream to become a writer, so why would you give up on your dreams?

Stop telling yourself that you aren’t good enough. Stop grabbing your dream then letting it go because you think you don’t have enough grip on it. One day you will wake up and it will be too late to grab it, so grab it now! Don’t be worried about the outcome, but instead, make the outcome! Don’t stop chasing your dream because your legs are tired. Push through the hard times and grab that dang want. You want the dream to come true, don’t you? It’s all within your chest! You are the creator, so create the ending that you want. If you want to be a doctor, then become a doctor. You are the only one that is standing in your way. You can do this. I know you can.

We put up our tree!

Tis the season to put up a Christmas Tree. My wife and I spent this Friday night getting into the Christmas spirit. This included; hot chocolate, pajamas, Christmas movies, and a lot of decorations. We always spend time getting into the mood, it is our thing!

We went to Walmart and bought new lights, which are precious. We only spent 3 dollars each on the 4 boxes. That isn’t bad for lights, especially when they work very well. We got blue and white, which go really well together. We put lights up in the living room and on the tree while watching “How the Grinch stole Christmas.” I must say that the tree came out really well, along with the lights and the door mat.

We wanted to be decked out, so we picked up a door decal and a wall decal. The door decal said “Merry Christmas” with a picture of Santa, where as the wall decals says “Today a savior has been born to you; His name is Christ the Lord.” I really love everything we bought, and we aren’t even done. We still want to decorate more, so we will be sharing pics soon!!!! I wouldn’t want to share early!!!!d

Either way, tell me what decorations you will be putting up? What is your tradition? Are you more of a giver or receiver? Let me know!!! Love you guys, night!

Well, I tried something new and failed. I actually went with the Browns and the Bears and they failed me, not like it was a shock though. We are looking at two doomed teams, I should have never trusted them. Other than that, I was able to watch the Chiefs game against Denver. The game came down to the final seconds in Overtime (after a td and a 2 point conversion to end regulation) in which the Chiefs kicker, Santos made the game winning td. This plus a few weak picks, I was able to save my great 93-64-2. Let us not look to the past, now we must look to the future. The future is bright, so lets get started.

There is too much to explain in this post to where I have been. Let me just ensure you that it’s been hectic. I won’t go too far into it, but know I haven’t forgotten about you. I have been dealing with some things, and I would like to share with you guys, tomorrow.

I am back, though. Ler us get this going again, and this time we will make history. Life is starting to slow down, again. This means that everything will be going back to normal, then I will be able to write daily.

We will talk more about this tomorrow, so don’t miss it. I have missed you guys, so show this little, tiny post a huge warm hug! Love you and see you tomorrow!

I am a prime and proud example of an author trying to make it.

I will admit this is my third time making this “About me.” I don’t do well at telling others about myself, I barely know myself as it is. So to tell someone else about myself is harder than a person expects. It actually shouldn’t be that rough, but it is and well that’s life right.

So to cope with the fact that I don’t know myself, I will answer a few common questions I get asked!

1. Tell me about yourself?

My nickname is “The Blakester” I am a very dedicated Writer and have chosen to come back to my roots. Though in my 21 years, i still have no idea who I am, or where I will go in my life. But at the same time of not knowing where I will go, I am okay with that. Why Rush things?

2. When did you start blogging?

Ha! I created my first blog on BlogSpot called “Livingexampleb23’s blog” about three-four years ago. Though I have been a dedicated writer since I was young!

3. As a response to #2, Why did you create the blog?

I am a passionate writer! What else can I say? There is a main reason I created the blog though, in which I will spill my beans. A girl screwed me over! She broke my heart, and instead of crying about it, I coped through it by writing all of our memories! Then I couldn’t stop posting!

4. How many blogs have you been a part of?

Geez enough! I have created four blogs. Each one was different, but each one had the same effect, They got boring!

Livingexampleb23’s blog- Got writers block, forgot password to the account.

Voicefromthebeyond- No response to great content, got bored.

Blastfromthepast- Video game review blog that had one blog post. Realized it wasn’t for me.

Impromtdude- Freaking amazing name! Its my love, my life! It wont be going anywhere!

5. Impromt Dude? What’s that story?

If you mean, “Why did I name my blog that?” Its in the title actually! Impromptu is the act of being random, and well I believe I am a dude. It’s a way to say, “I am random, so get ready for a great post.” I wouldn’t want it any other way! And I spell it impromt so it’s easier to find me on the Internet!  Not a typo!

6. What is your favorite post so far?
This is a good question, because in the end to me all of my post are my favorite. I cant just choose one to point out. That is like telling one kid that one is a favorite where the other is just another kid. But I do love this project…but you will never know which one!

7. What can we expect in the future?

You can expect perfection! You can expect a new edge of blogging that I haven’t done before. Meaning if you liked the post before, you will love them now! Promise or your time back!

8. Future projects?

There are alot of new projects coming your way. This is just the edge of my career. Just the beginning of something great. I will be posting everyday for nearly two years. Each post will be different. This is called “What should I write? Challenge” and even more coming your way!

9. Okay final question! If you won an award who would you thank?

Ah! An Award for my writing. Here we go.
“I want to thank some amazing people that have gotten me here. Jesus you have never given up on me so thanks. But even if he did, I would have to thank my father, and my biggest fan. Thank you for always pushing me to do my best. My wife Ariel i would love to thank because she is so tired of me talking, yet will listen to my stupid stories. She is awesome.

Have a Good day!

-Imprompt Dude!

New one coming soon 😉

I hate myself sometimes.
I am not the biggest fan of myself, every now and then. I actually hate myself most of the time, and the reason is simple; I get bored of something really easily, even if I am doing amazing at it. I have always had this problem, and it is something that has held me back in life, and in my dreams. I got bored with getting better with my Punting skills, I gave up on getting better with my guitar skills, and I have slowed down in my writing. I wouldn’t say this is due to boredom, but I wouldn’t know what to call it, so I will call it boredom.
I can never keep with one thing, long. I find myself going through a lot of phases, never getting great at everything, but staying average at everything. Its like if I got great at something, then I would get even more bored, and I would walk away from it. But if I take breaks from it, then I will always have to get better, killing more time and keeping the challenge in the hobby. This is why I have been slowing down on writing, well I think that’s the reason?
I saw myself slowing down on my writing career, when I started to get apparel. I was about to release a clothing line, new stickers, and many other things. This is when I started to feel myself pull back from the writing. It seemed that my mind knew that we were getting stuff done, and it got scared, stopping my body on a dime. I don’t know what is scary about blowing up, but it is a fear inside myself. I am legit scared to become someone in the writing world, that I will compromise my writing routine, disabling myself from becoming something. I just don’t know why its so scary. I would love to become famous, I would love for my writing to get noticed, and for it to be in newspapers, magazines, and various other outlets. I love the idea of the challenge, and would love for the idea to come into reality.
I am hoping that the fear will end, soon. I am forcing myself to write. I hate forcing myself to do something that I am hesitant to do, and would love to get over this, so I can start writing freely again. I would love some encouraging words, it really helps! Thank you, with your help, we will finally get over this!

I posted a Challenge on Facebook, yesterday. The rules were simple; if I got a certain amount of likes and comments, I would inform you guys of my crazy, yet fun, Friday night. With the criteria being made, I will spend time writing that post, tomorrow, and it will go up tomorrow night.
This story involves my job and a genius mind. In the face of trouble. What would you do? Would you run and hide, or would you do what it takes to get things done?
I am still uncertain with what consequences this story might bring, but it’s too funny to not tell. I am sure that it won’t draw too much attention, but if it does, I will need donations for rent….
Other than that, I hope you guys are having a great finals night. Tonight, I predict that the GSW will cap off the series, defeating Cleveland, and holding a back-to-back championship. The score will be within 15 points, meaning no blowout. Curry will come alive, Thompson will have 20+ points, Andre will start and hold Lebron to within 20+, finally the MVP will be *drum rolls* Clay Thompson or Shaun Livingston!!!!!!!!!
I am no genius, so please don’t quote me on anything. I maybe watch 10 games out of the season, but it’s fun to make up a whole bunch of shit…haha

So anyways, I wanted to tell you, that I will be posting that story tomorrow. It could come up a little later, but it will be up tomorrow. Until then, get some rest, enjoy this weather, and have a beautiful night 🙂 I love you, beautifuls

The other day.
I have been needing to talk about this, but I haven’t thought about it, while writing, so I will take today, and tell you guys about this amazing gift I got in the mail. This was the first time I have received mail from another writer, fan, or friend, so to me it was very special. It might seem small to some people, but that isnt the case. The fact is that this person took time out of their schedule, and spent time to make this gift. Size doesn’t matter if the gift is from the heart.

I was checking my mail, one day, and I found that this amazing post card was there. I looked at the back of the piece of paper to see that it was addressed for me, and not someone else. When it confirmed that it was the right postcard, I began to read the long note, on the back. The note told me about how the artist loves grapes. On the postcard (shown below), she drew me a pineapple, as she absolutely adores them, and as a child she would love to drink the juice. I love pineapple juice, its really delicious, so we are the same on that, which is also cool. She told me to keep the card well, so now it hangs on my desk. I love the card, since it came from another artist, and a fan. I love getting this kind of stuff in the mail, but this time, I love it even more because of all the effort that was put into the gift. She is an amazing artist, and a very down to earth girl.

In the note, she told me about her new clothing store that is opening soon. I wanted to give you guys the opportunity to go check that out, but sadly the link doesn’t work. I hope that she sees this, and informs us of what is going on. But I do know one thing you guys can do. GIPostcards has her own blog, one that she post her own handmade postcards. I would really appreciate if you could follow the link to her blog. She is very creative and has amazing ideas. The Link is Here. Go check it out!

If you guys would like to send me some art, or anything else. Please do send it. I would love to see your work, and anytime you send me something, I will write a post (like this one) about it. I am excited to see what you guys send.

Gregbjenkins23@gmail.com – send anything you want to this email. I will respond in moments, and I will try to have a post up in about 1-2 weeks. Depending on what is going on. Thank you guys!

I cant wait to show you guys the new hoodies that yoursignature.com are making for this blog, they were designed by yours truly, and giving to someone that has amazing talent at making personalized clothing, with the combination, I am about to have the most amazing apparel, that any blog has ever had. The design is on a charcoal grey, with the Impromtdude logo on the front, and Impromtdude signed on the back, in blue. I have posted a rough draft of the hoodie online, but it doesn’t compare to what it will look like, in person!

But hoodies are not the only thing that are coming to the blog, we also have t-shirts and stickers on the way. The stickers are a simple logo with the web address on the bottom, and the t-shirts will be the same design as the hoodie, with many color choices for the logo, and lettering! Today, I want to tell you guys more about how to receive free stuff, though!

I posted on my social media, that if you want to receive something free, then it will cost you. I also told you that I would tell you more later, well now is that time! In this world, it takes an artist between 5-7 years to becoming successful after they begin. With me just kicking it into overdrive on my road to being famous, that means that I have a long time to get there. There are a lot of people that don’t know about me, but know about you, which means that you are the best way to them. My offer is simple, you promote me, you get free stuff! Want to know more? Keep reading.

I recently made business cards. This will give people my name, where to find me, and what exactly I do. I need help handing them out. So I am here to purpose an idea, which is this, if you hand out 10 of my business cards to your friends, family, or co-workers, you will receive a free sticker. That is all you have to do, for every 10 (cards) you hand out, you receive another sticker. The amount is endless on how many you can receive, so what do you say?

Will you help me get out there? I have been building this amazing blog, for almost 2 years, and am ready to take the next step, being noticed. I am ready to connect with new artist, friends, and fans. This is my passion, can you help me fulfil my dream? If you will help, I would appreciate it!

Impromtdude @ Facebook.com/impromtdude

While I’m on my day off, I don’t relax. There is always something that can be done, and I use the time that I’m not posting, to do the little business things. Today was no different, I spent my day working on business cards, and stickers. I find that this will be the best way to promote my blog.
Soon, I will be posting a blog about how you can get some free stickers. But in life you can never get things for free, but I will promise that it won’t be hard. It will be simply, you promoting me.
So Stay tuned, because it’s going to be an exciting ride for us, my fans and me, that is. I love you and hope you had a great day:)
