The warm weather made Christmas feel different. Then the rain brought down the spirit, more. But the worst part of yesterday was that a huge fight broke out. The fight left a few individuals very upset, but that didn’t last long. Our family can never stay mad. The fight was over within hours and there we stood, working things out.

This brings me to the meaning of Christmas. This was something that I did last year. But I have wanted to do it again. This is because during these times, I feel like we get caught up in the gifts, stress and all the wrong reasons to celebrate. This generation gets caught up with the idea of gifts and their selves that they forget to appreciate the small things.

I had a whole bunch of great gifts! I got my set of books, a car vacuum, new paints, Puma clothing, and a really awesome laptop! I couldn’t have been happier with the gifts, but that wasn’t the best part of the night. They best part came after the gifts were unwrapped. The best part was spending time with my family.

On Christmas Eve, I found myself hanging with people that I haven’t seen in about 4 years; this being my dad’s side of the family. We had a little get together. At first, I wasn’t able to find enjoyment, but after I laid down my pride I wss able to enjoy myself. This came when I actually started to connect with my family, again.

This might have been a good time, but the best thing came during the night side of Christmas, after a day of fighting. Everyone came over and joked around. Then my cousins and I decided to try all of the hot sauce that I had previously received that week. We sat around a table and pulled numbers from a cup to decide which hot sauce to try. During this, we all joked around and had a blast. The hot sauce was fantastic and it all showed that you don’t have to receive anything to love the season.

CHRISTMAS has became about getting the perfect gift. So much zone that we have forgotten that Christmas is about family. Love is suppose to be the center of Christmas. This being said, why do we stress out so much about buying gifts, that only brings anger and hatred. CHRISTMAS is suppose to bring families close, not tear them apart. That is the real meaning of Christmas. The meaning being; instead of worrying about buying a gift that honestly won’t matter in a year, why don’t we spend the time reconnecting and sharing memories as a family. Only then will we feel the magic of Christmas, again.

Last year I gave my meaning of Christmas. Take a glance at what I felt was the meaning. I will post this same thing tomorrow, but more of an updated version!

Christmas is here!
Christmas is here, the snow has almost laid its cold and soft blanket across the yards of Illinois and most of the world. The alarms are about to be changed to ten minutes sooner, so we can get up and remove the ice of our cars. The choirs are warming up their beautiful vocals, as they prepare to sing to the elderly. The bells are beginning to ring as you walk into Walmart, the bells are for charity, but we think of different things when we hear them (CHRISTMAS MUSIC.)
Yes the Christmas music hasn’t been cancelled. Rudolph is about to tell the world about his great adventure, Santa is reminding us to be nice. Jack frost is about to receive his hat again. The old ones are about to rock their hips around the Christmas tree. And how could we forget about dashing through the snow. Though we will get annoyed with the same songs that play in synch 24/7 until January, we will have our hearts warmed with the fire that is so delightful. But we will still have a place in our heart for sledding.
Am I too old now to sled? Of course not! You can never be too old to sled. Sledding brings a warmth to my heart that can’t be ignited by any normal flame. It is a delightful feeling to know that I’m still a kid on the inside. That is what Christmas is about, feeling like you haven’t all year. Christmas has been corrupted by the idea of gifts, when in my day it was about feeling warm with your family. Christmas was about being with family, and showing love to those around you.
I am excited about this Christmas. It is the first time in a couple years that I have felt this way. The feeling left when people started to fight about the phrase “Happy holidays” So many people got mad because there wasn’t Christ in that phrase. But we have to look past a silly phrase (That was put into place to suit everyone’s beliefs) and look at why we should be happy during Christmas.
Christmas to me was the one time that all of my family was in one place at the same time. People work hard for their money, meaning that sometimes they can’t attend family events. But with very few expectations, Christmas shuts down most stores. This fact gives everyone the same day off! We all would pile into my grandmas house and laugh with each other, talking about the past year and what has changed. There was never a fight on Christmas, never a disagreement, never resentment, never tears (unless of joy). It was like for the one day of the year, the world was fully at peace. I miss that.
I miss seeing families through their windows as you drove by. Like seeing a dad pick up a son or daughter, and throwing them up in the air. Or seeing the notorious snowball fight, where the dad would bring mom down to the snow. She was never mad though, she knew this was a part of Christmas. I miss hearing about family stories that were told on Christmas, now it is about how much was under their tree, it has become unbearable to hear about!
This Christmas do me a favor, and focus more on reconnecting with family, and less on buying that Xbox one. Materialistic things will break and fade away, but the family moments that we lock away in our hearts may become dim, but they will never be forgotten. As long as you hold on to those memories, nothing will be able to make you upset on Christmas.
Christmas, to me, is about family. Let us get it back to that!

We are a big part of blogs that usually work. This means that we are doing very well, and maximizing our chances on getting noticed. With most blogs, they only focus on one thing, which will bring in a lot of people, but there is always a stop to their views. That is because, those people will find what they need and leave. I have been a firm believer that a blog cant stand on one topic or style alone. But they need to branch out and find new styles and topics to express in their blogs. I am proud to say that out of 32 blog types that work, we have practice 18 of them.
1. Interviews
2. Problem fixing
3. Behind the scenes
4. Inspiring stories
5. Funny post
6. Thinking out loud
7. Rants
8. Guest bloggers
9. Stats
10. Previews
11. Search twitter questions
12. Open letters
13. Thankful post
14. Best source of inspiration
15. Aspirations for blog
16. Awareness
17. Recycling old post
18. List.
Some of these types are hidden within post, but are still there. I am showing you this, so if someone asks what impromtdude is you can confidently say; he is a blogger that isnt scared to think outside of the box, and isn’t just about one topic, and isn’t scared to stick to one style. Impromtdude, to me, stands for “A blog that isnt afraid to go places other blogs wont.”

I fell into a dark place a few years ago, this was the time that I found myself in Writer’s block. Writer’s Block is “The condition of unable to think of what to write or how to proceed with writing” and it is very complicated to get out of. I was unable to proceed with writing, I would have trouble getting pass two paragraphs. I didn’t have a problem coming up with the ideas, I would get bored of writing, it was if something would pull my motivation out of my body, leaving me dead inside. This went on for many months, and ruined one of my blogs. I would shortly get out of it, with the help of something I found at Barnes and Noble.
I was sitting around this week and I ran across my Writing Prompt books, and I thought “Isn’t this cheating the system?” I felt bad for using these books when I was going through such a rough time. This blog was started with a segment titled “Creative blogging,” which are ideas from these books. I truly felt bad for doing this, but then I started to think about what these prompts actually did for me.
When I was in the Writer’s Block, I lacked the excitement of writing. These books would give me a new found excitement, that would lead me to post an additional 200 post to “Impromtdude.” That is when I realized that Writing Prompts couldn’t be a bad thing, but a positive tool to succeed.
Writing prompts helped me open up my mind to be more creative. I remember reading one of the prompts that told me to describe my teacher. Detailing a story was a weakness for me in the past, but after I did this exercise a few times a week, I noticed that my writing was getting better. This was a great sign that I was overcoming my biggest struggles. I overcame my weakness of Writer’s block, when I found my love for writing while completing these prompts.
If you are in a tough rut and need to get out of a writers quall, then why not give these books a chance? It doesn’t matter if you post the answers on your writing platform, or you can write them in the book for future references. Whatever you choose to do with the notes you write is your decision, but soon you will see that all your writing problems will soon evaporate in thin air. This will free your mind and allow you to live your full potential, as a writer.

My dad came down this last weekend, which put my wife into the mood for the holidays. This always includes putting up the dang Christmas tree. Last year, it took almost three hours to decorate the tree. I couldn’t get the lights to stay on the tree, I even watched videos on YouTube. I found out that I was putting the lights on wrong. I figured that I wasn’t suppose to tie the lights to the inner part of the tree, which is what I was doing. I wondered why the lights didn’t look like those on lifetime, Now I know.

This year, my dad was excited to put up the tree with us. We decorated the whole living room with lights and  bulbs. Of course I had to gripe about my dad not fluffing the tree enough! It felt nice to decorate the house this year. With the house decorated, I can say that it feels like Christmas at the Jenkins house now. And my favorite part is that my dad put the lights on the tree this year, which means YouTube wasn’t needed. Sorry to those guys that specialize in those kind of videos.
The tree looks like this:
