I am calling all writers, poets, song writers, novelist, bloggers, authors, or just people that love to make a difference. All of you probably know that I was abused as a kid, something that has had an effect on my life for a while, but I was able to get the help to cope. It wasn’t easy, but with the right people, I was able to get over the fear and now I am happy. Help me help kids in similar situations. Do you know someone that is being abuse, or that maybe has? Then you won’t want to miss this event!

Impromtstudios will be hosting the first annual Blog-a-Thon where we will be posting 24 posts in 24 hours as we help raise money to help those who are being abused. I don’t have much information, as of this second, but I would like to reach out to people to help. I know I can’t do this alone, but with your help this can be a success. As details come together, I will post them, here. For now, I want to know how many people would like to blog with me. If you’re interested, then send me an email! Gregbjenkins23@gmail.com

Also, if you are reading this, and you don’t write then please tell me, what would you like us to write about? With 24 posts, I don’t know how many times we can post about tacos, so tell me, what would you like us to cover? You can simply comment with ideas and wants. We will cover anything that you tell us to cover.

I beg you guys to come together, team up with me and help these kiddos. I have a charity that I want to go through, but we will keep that secret for now, since I want to announce all of that soon in a separate blog. Please share this; let’s get as many talented artists together! We can make a difference, let’s not waste our time!

Now that I found it.
Now that I found the item, we can move on. The night was young. This is the story about my attempt to make my phone work again. It was a late night in the capitol city. The last bus just picked up their last passenger. The night was almost over. The breeze was slightly blowing the leaves across my yard. I walked outside to feel the breeze on my face, but when I stepped outside the wind stopped blowing. Yet, when I walked back inside, the wind began to blow again. This has nothing to do with the story, I just felt it was weird.

I was sitting at my desk after a long day. The day consisted of work. I had to work a long shift. It was a total of 6 hours. This is a long shift for a man with a tough life. I couldn’t imagine ever working longer than 6 hours. I have to give props to anyone that works more than 6 hours, it takes a lot to do that so good job, guys. Anyway, the day was a long, hard day that consisted of me sitting in front of a computer screen. I was doing my schedules for the infants. They have been bad lately, so I wasn’t forced to give them any hours. This being said, I have to tell you that I didn’t have to work hard at all. But what happened later was what killed me.

After work, I had to go and get something to eat. I decided to go to Taco Bell. I wanted to kill my insides, so I ordered a few extra items. If I was going to kill my insides, I wanted to make sure they wouldn’t become zombies afterwards. After scarfing the few tacos down and sitting for a few minutes, I started to feel the pain. I ran to the bathroom and died there. Yes, I am telling you that I am the living dead. My sole purpose was to find one thing. I was searching for the one item that I couldn’t find. The item has a lot of purpose and I needed to find it, so I had to find it, even if it took me all night.

After a hour of searching, I found the item. I found the item and now I am not using it. I found the item on the ground. I couldn’t tell you guys about finding the item until I found the item, but I finally found it.  The reason I am not using it is because I found the same item before finding the other item, so now I have two of the same item, so I don’t need the other. But the morale of the story is that I just wasted your time telling you about an item that I don’t even need. You’re welcome!

I don’t know what to think

Hey there. I hope you guys are having a great night. I wish I was watching the game tonight, but that isn’t happening. Instead, I am spending the night watching YouTube videos. You might be wondering why, since I am a huge fan of the NFL. Let me tell you why. It will only take a few seconds.

This has been an ongoing problem for a few days. We have been having the same problem, but it has gotten worse. See a few days ago Ariel and I were watching a T.V. show. Then as the show was getting good, the picture pixeled out. The screen froze for a few seconds before breaking back into the show. I thought that the receiver was just glitching out due to the weather. We went on with our lives, but then tonight we were watching the game. The game would freeze every ten seconds, which ruined the Cowboys loss for me. I knew I had to get this fixed, because I want to watch the upcoming games.

I am the type of guy that will go to YouTube for everything. YouTube is the best thing since meth. They have a video for everything, so I knew it could help me. I went on and found a video that was very helpful. The video told me to disconnect the hdmi cord from the back. The connection was supposedly corrupted and needed to be reset. I disconnected the cord and waited. But when I plugged it back in the problem was still there. At this point, I was done with trying to figure it out, so I called the technician.

If I can say anything about DIRECTV it is that their wait time is amazing. I only waited two minutes on hold before I got redirected. This is impressive next to what I use to wait with Comcast. When the woman came on the phone, she was a sweety. She was really sweet and wanted to help me. After a few minutes of trying to diagnose the problem, this woman had hit her limits. She was unable to help any further. This is when she sent me to the next person in line. That person was a little more irritating. She only cared about me paying for the service, instead of trying to get me help. She told me all the prices of the service, yet never asked me to do anything. She was quick to schedule an appointment that would cost me over $100. I told this woman that I wasn’t going to pay this because its not my fault that their equipment was bad. She then told me that it was that or I could sign up for a monthly protection program. Being done with this fight, I agreed to the protection program. The woman told me the time of the meeting, which happens to be on the day that I have to work. Now, I have to find a way to miss that day so I can be here with the technician. I am thinking about shutting my service off..

Am I overreacting?

Should I just let this go? I don’t feel like I should have to pay for a receiver because their equipment is crap. They should realize that the equipment is out-of-date and should replace it without question or another bill. I know that everything cost, but when I have done nothing to break their equipment, why should I have to pay? Someone please bring light to my selfishness.

Today, I was going to quit. I was going to announce that I was closing the doors to “Impromtdude.” I haven’t been able to get anything written, it’s a bad case of writers block, which has led me to think that I am done as a blogger. With this in my mind, I was set to not renew my domain and deactivate this account. But something happened. I was doing my checkups on FB and I found this quote.

Seeing this instantly stopped my tirade. I knew that I couldn’t give up, because writers dont give up! For now, I might be a little sketchy on posting, but just give me time, I’ll be back soon!

I should be working, but that can wait. Yes, you are getting a post from inside my workplace, as I sit in the back and hope for a dead night. I am exhausted, I have pains on my pains, and I am ready to go home! But we shall work through it and press on.
Effects Sundays will be coming soon. This will be the segment that shows you guys what I work on when I’m not writing. You guys might know about it, but let me discuss a lil further. I am beginning a new journey, well more like starting a new hobby.
I find that sometimes I get burnt out of writing because it’s the only thing I do. But I find a weird love in making gory things, which is an effects artists job. They are suppose to make it possible to make a cut without actually harming anyone. We have all seen them. Just watch any movie, I am sure they have one SFX art in the movie, especially when it’s a horror/slasher film.
The reason I love to do this is because I love to watch such movies, I have always been inspired to write and produce a horror movie! If I take on the role of the effects artist also, then I wouldn’t have to pay another person to do so. But with the future aside, right now I want to do two things; get better at writing, further my experience in SFX make-up.
I have shown you guys the previous work, but what if there’s more? Would you want to see it? If you said yes, then this Sunday Special is just for you!

SundayEffects will be solely for special effects. Now, I do plan on making multiple effects a week(once my work schedule is balanced) and posting them to Facebook, but SundayEffects will take one of those effects and will tell you; how to do the Effect, how to obtain the materials, the price of the Materials, or other great things. Not all said things will be in every post, though sometimes it will be just me showing my work. But either way, this is going to be an amazing segment, and I think you will love it

I am taking request on what to make, so please do tell me what effect you want to see!

Welp, back to hell. Goodbye!

There is no doubt that I will make it

I am sitting here thinking about my future, wondering where I could go, and wondering if I will ever make it to that place. I have been doing this for about two-years (on this blog) and really I have nothing to show for it. I don’t have anyone coming up to me and telling me nice job, I am not being paid, I really don’t have anything to show for it, at this point, I am just a low-end writer that just happens to post everyday. This will not be a post about how I feel sorry for myself, this post will be about how, even at the end of the wits a true writer will stand from the ashes and raise his pen. Writers that have been down this road know it can be hard. It is a never ending battle, and the beginning is the hardest part.
I have wrote a few blogs on this topic “Never giving up.” But today is different. Today, I am not telling you guys to not give up, also not telling you guys to keep going. Today is about me, I am fighting myself. I am fighting the self doubt inside, but also reviewing my work, and coming to a conclusion to the question “Can I truly make it?” I want to be quick to say yes, but at the same time, I know that not every writer will make it, and with many writers coming up the stream, it seems that I am heading the other current without a paddle. This paddle that I am talking about is college. It is hard to find a writing job, it is even harder to find a writing job without a college degree in Creative writing, journalism, copywriting etc. This is something I don’t have, but 90% of other writers do. This means that I lie in the pool with 10% of writers that might make it. I am of 10% of writers without a degree, how do we make it? Through social media, small jobs and friends.
I am on Facebook, which was my asocial media outlet, and I haven’t been seeing any spikes in performance. Now, this doesn’t mean that my work is bad, that is not the case, the case is that my work 1. Isn’t getting to the dark side of Facebook 2. They don’t care. 3. I don’t have a strong friend list. When I say the dark side of Facebook, I am talking about those friends that are really close with you, but at the same time, they don’t really connect over Facebook. They could be busy with work, on a different social media, or they don’t like Facebook, at all. Though, these might be the reasons, there is also another possibility. They could not care. This is a strong possibility, and also probably the case most of the time. People have different taste, they want what they want and nothing else. They want a post about a flower when you are posting about a flag, and want a post about a flag when you are posting about a flower. It is impossible to reach every listener on Facebook, because trends come and go, this is why you see a momentary increase in stats, because people are into what you are writing, but as quick as you got those views, they change their interest and you are left with nothing. Then there is number 3, which I believe is my case, you don’t have a strong friend list. This is saying that your “Friends” are on your Facebook because you were close at one time, but now you guys aren’t. They still want to be friends, you know to keep up, but they don’t interact with you. If you have a Facebook full of these friends, that is why you aren’t getting the clicks. This is when you need to clear your friends list, I highly recommend this, and start from fresh. You don’t want friends that don’t speak to you taking up all your space. Your post will only reach a few, so why not make sure that few are friends that care?
With this being said, what does that show for me? I would have to say that this is all a problem for me. My blog is great, as said by strangers, so this leaves one big thing; my friends. I have never had strong friends, they all have kind of sucked, at times. But the biggest thing that might have effect on me, is the fact that I was shunned by my friends a couple years back. This blog isnt about them, though. I just know that this could have a big effect on me, since I never deleted them. With them being on my friends list, they see my post but they never look at it, causing me to lose potential views. I have always seen that my “sees” are up, but my blog stats are low. This is because of those friends, they might scroll past it, but since we don’t see eye-to-eye they will not click onto the link. This is why it is important that you clear your friends list. That way you are reaching true fans and family, ones that will care about your dreams.
With this being said, what does it look like? What are the chances of me making it? It is as good as anyone else’s. I have the talent that it takes, so now it is just getting the horse to the water, once they are there, I will let my blog drag them in. I can’t expect this to catch fire instantly, though. It takes time to grow an audience. I will have to have faith to make it, and I will have to practice a lot. This means that I need to follow more artist and less posers, I will also need to follow the rule of Stephen King, which is “To be a great writer, you must read great writing.” It takes all your heart to become someone, and a lot of time. All you can do is hope and pray that you catch a break. I have already been through the praying, now it is time to get better and get ready for my big break. Every writer has the same odds, I just have to do everything to make my odds better!

I am ready!
I am watching NFL HQ and thinking about the next season. I am ready for the boys to get back out on the gridiron, but also I’m ready for the all wondering fantasy football. The time of the year where men get together and compare their stats, also fight for the championship. I had very fun time, last year, and I’m ready to get back in the playing field. I didn’t last year, but that is fine, because I’m coming back for my championship that lies the hand of my good friend.

This year, I will be doing a live league, compared to an old online league, with a handful of my wonderful wo-workers. The same co-workers that played last year. I am excited to be able to do this with my friends, and I cant wait to see what they have learned over the last year, and how they will differentiate their team to get the best results. I know that I have learned a lot from the last few years, and that is trust your gut.

If you are playing fantasy, trust your gut! It is important that you don’t overthink your decisions about your line-up. Don’t look at stats and think “I shouldn’t play him, maybe him, or him” that will just leave you confused, when in reality, you were doing just fine with the first guy. Now with your new guy, you will possibly get less points, all because you didn’t want to trust your gut. Now there will be times where you will need to make a educated guess, but go with what your gut says. If you think a Brady against the Bills is better than Fitzpatrick against the Bears, then keep your decision and hope for the best.

I will also be doing an online ESPN league that will be testing different line-ups, so it wont be a serious league. I want to see what some of the sleepers are doing, so that is what it will be for; it will be to test the new rookies or players coming off injuries. Also it will be used to help new players, which I am inviting whoever is new to fantasy to this league. This league should help new players learn the scoring, also what works and what doesn’t.

As the new fantasy season opens, so does my Facebook page; Gridiron Retreat, a website used to help fantasy players with their league, also to update football lovers on what is happening around the league! I didn’t post as much as I wanted to last year, but this year will be different, since I have a little more time. I am attempting to post everyday, hopefully moving up to posting multiple times a day. I don’t know what kind of effect this will have on Impromtdude, but once it gets closer, I will let you know!

More than 15 million adults use social media to reconnect with old friends, and to stay in touch with fellow family members; but what kind of effect does Social Media really cause? In a research, I found that Social Media has been a great tool to rekindle dormant friendships, eliminates social isolation, and helps one become more creative while also getting more support. But with all the good effects, are there any negative effects? Research suggests Social Media makes one lazy, causes more cyber bullying, and causes one to compare themselves to another.

image

In June of 2014, 74% of adults were using Social Media. They were said to be using the Social media to reconnect with dormant relationships. Facebook is good for one thing, the fact that everyone has it, and that it is very user friendly. You can search for someone, and three seconds later, you are talking to them through the messaging application. This helps those who moved away (years ago) find their long lost friends. With it being so easy to find old friends, Social Media is now the leading way to keep up with social ties, making it a lot easier to make and keep friends.

It is much easier to express yourself over a computer, which makes Social media a great outlet to get out of Social Isolation. With groups for various things, you can find something you like and discuss it with others, who share your same opinions and/or hobbies. Facebook pages are easy to navigate, and there are discussion boards posted, everywhere. Making it very easy to find what you are looking for. The more groups you join, the more friends you will likely make. It is a fantastic way to build new connections, and make life-long friends.

46% of adults tend to post original photos, videos, and ideas on their social media. When they post original work, they are considered “Creators.” Where 46% share original work, there are 41% that share work of others, these people are called, Curators. 56% of people do both, which means that more than half of the social media world is being creative; they are using their talents to make art and post it. This allows for people to express themselves more, and for others to gain new ideas, and try new things.

So now we know the good things that come from social media. Social media helps reconnect old friends, but also helps make new friends and connections. Also, it helps more than half of 14 million people, become more creative, through creating and sharing their work to the world. But with every good thing, there has to be some kind of bad, but what could be so bad about reconnecting friends, and helping the quiet express themselves?

Social media gives the idea that you no longer have to try! With everyone, at the tips of your callused finger; one might think they no longer have to go out and make new friends. I mean, why would they? They now can make new friends on social media, which requires no human contact and no effort, also you don’t have to wear pants! Sounds GREAT! But that’s the problem, Social Media makes it too easy to connect with people that one will become lazy, and stay inside, all day.

Even with staying inside, one is still at harm when suffering the news feed, of Social media. There is an enemy that stalks their prey, waiting for the right time to devour their souls. These people are called Cyberbullies, one who uses electronic technology to make fun of others, and they are dangerous! In 2013, 42% of teens were falling victim to cyberbullies. The idea of cyberbullying should make you sick; since 1 of 10 people attempt suicide, this is 20% of cyberbullying victims. With 81% of the cyberbullies saying they do it because it’s easier to get away with, should raise every eyebrow.  The only goal these scum have, is to make others feel inferior and worthless. They will take your pictures, videos, and ideas, and use them against you!

Finally, Social Media makes one compare themselves to others. Girls envy other girls profile pictures, wondering why the other girl has more likes, causing the first girl to fall into a depression, thinking what she has to do to get more attention, when the second girl is living a double life. The second girl is on Social media, posting pictures of her boobs, because she doesn’t have anything else to live for. The likes that pour in, are her only friends. She needs the likes to get her through the day. But since the first girl thinks she has the best life, ever, she will now try to become this girl, leading to a lot of heartache. This is the biggest problem with Social media, people live double-lives in order to get likes. They will post how great their lives are, but in reality, it’s as horrible as someone in depression. They might have money, but they are lacking in a family, or they have a great job, but they have too much debt for it to matter. The problem is simple; people want to be accepted, so they will say and do whatever it takes to get the acceptance.

Social media is an amazing place to meet new friends, by sharing the same interest and opinions. This can be done by joining a new page, or even befriending new people. Also, it’s the best place to reconnect with old friends, that you went to school with. You have an idea, this is a great place to find others to help you grow that idea. Social Media has a lot of great things, but it also can become something that we never wanted. With the risk of becoming anti-social in public, or falling into depression because of arrogant bullies, or simply not feeling like you fit in, because you don’t have everything, everyone else does. Social media is a great place, but it can also be a playground in hell, there are a lot of good effects, but also a lot of things that can lead to a disaster. Be careful when you are on social sites, and don’t post anything that might be used against you, later on down the road.

Night crawler journals: A long ride home.
The blood is dripping from his hand and splashing against the cold hard ground. The snow quickly covers the stain, making it white again. The snow was no longer falling, but with the violent winds, one couldn’t tell. But with the sun falling in the horizon, the winter temperature did as well.
A cough exhaled from Leos mouth as he asked for help. Aeron pushes his head up from the snow, and gazed across the square, Leo was only a few yards from him. There was a weird joy in seeing Leo, and knowing he was alive, but as his vision strengthened, he realized, Leo was bleeding heavily.
The smoke from the explosion made it hard to see anything, but what Aeron could see, was something that would come out of a gory Wes Craven film. The explosion scattered the corpse, of the crawlers, onto the walls of once local businesses. Their blood was spewed onto the walls, their guts were splattered onto the window. The blood was dripping from the window seal onto the ground. A handful of Crawlers were piled onto a burning car, the burning corpse let out a ungodly aroma that made the whole town smell. The smell was no problem, though it was horrible, the problem was fifteen feet from Aeron.
Leo had more to worry about, though, the open wound caused him to lose a lot of blood, which weakened his body, and began to pull all of the blood to the heart, to keep him alive. Aeron pushed himself from the ground, stumbling as he got up. He fell back to the ground, but then got back up and ran over to his falling Comrade. Aeron pulls him from the ground, with Leos hand around his neck, he begins to pull him towards their snow mobiles. Aeron knew the snow mobile had supplies that could initially save his friends life. Their snow mobiles were a distance away, though. This could be a hard task to  accomplish with a wounded male. But without thinking, Aeron begins to walk faster, holding Leo from the ground.
Both of the men were weak from the explosion. As they got closer to the snow mobiles, they began to get slower. They got a block away from the barrier of cars when Leo fell to his face. He is unresponsive as Aeron tried to get him back to his feet. Aeron knew that this journey would have to be a lone one. He wrapped his coat around him and left the scene. Aeron looks up from the ground, and looks around the town, he sees that the coast is clear, and begins to run through the empty town, making his way to the luggage. When he got to the Barrier, the slid on top of the hood, and landed on his feet on the other side. The snow mobile was covered with a sleeve of snow, the luggage was buried under the pile of snow, he slides his hand across the seat, pushing all the snow off of the leather. Aeron looks over at the abandoned mobile, knowing he would need the materials to get home, he gets off the ride and runs to the other cart. He grabs the other luggage, and piles it on top of his previously high amount.
He turns over the ignition and takes off. The wind in his face, the snow on his hands, he was freezing, but he needed to get out of Fairfield. He had one more stop, though. He made his way through the barrier, and drove up to Leo. As he got off the running snowmobile, he noticed that Leos wound was turning black. The infection was spreading quickly through his blood stream. The cold was turning him slowly into one of the beast. Since the wound was on his arm, Aeron needed to cut it off, causing the infection to stop in its tracks, but as Aeron grasped a hold of his Machete, a crawler appeared from one of the alleys, and was headed towards them. Aeron had no time to do the surgery, he had to act fast, and worry about the wound, later. He pulls Leo onto the cart, and piled all the covers onto him. After killing the Crawler, Aeron got back on his snow mobile and sped off.
Aeron looked back into the cart, to see that Leo was slowly moving, back and forth. He was moaning from the continuing pain, gripping tightly onto his arm. Aeron wanted to stop and help him, but he knew that he couldn’t do it, he needed to get the man to a safe, and warm location. There he could cut off his arm, and get the infection to stop spreading. As they made a path through a snowy plain, Aeron felt the wind pick up. The snow fall was coming down heavy, now. The snow flakes were bigger than they had seen before. But with little hope of survival in his heart, Aeron saw something in the distance, maybe their last hope. It was an old grocery loading dock that was used before the storm. He thought of the back-up generator and the loads of food they could steal. This would be a great hideout, for now, until the storm passes, and they can get back on the route. Aeron slows down, until he came to a full stop. Leo moans a little louder as the crate lost traction, and slammed into the back of the snowmobile. Aeron apologizes. The front door was chained together to keep intruders out. The chain had an inch of ice frozen onto it.
Aeron grabs his machete, and swings hard. The cold metal clings against the chain, it breaks the frozen metal, and the chain falls to the ground. Aeron opens the door to see a big selection of food. There seemed to be a group here, and they seem to gather more food, for the harsh winter, but there wasn’t anyone in sight, indicating that something got in, or they left Aeron grabs their belongings and carries Leo into the building. The doors wouldn’t stay shut, so he grabs a rope and closes the doors, tying the rope to a cart on the inside that contained cases of alcohol. After locking the door from the inside, Leo lies down on the ground, near the door with his blankets, and falls to sleep. Aeron, on the other hand, goes through the store looking for the generator, but also anything that could come to use, to them.
While Aeron walks through the store, he spots the generator, but there is no gas. He tries to get it to start, but the tank is fully empty. With no hope in the generator, he goes to the home and garden section, of the store, and grabs all the wood and lighter fluid that he can. He brought the materials back to the front of the store, and dropped the supplies, then he left again. This time he was looking for something to put the fire inside, such as a small metal pan, something to keep the fire from spreading through the whole store. The grill they had wouldn’t fit on the crate, with Leo, so he had to leave it behind. But he found his answer as he circled the frozen aisle. He found a five gallon metal pot. This was smaller than he wanted, but it would work. He brought the small pot back to the front of the store, Leo was fully out, he was no longer moaning, in pain. He walks to the window, and places the machete on the window seal, he looks out into the mass of snow. He sits there and thinks about what was going to happen, as he does, he thinks of how close they are from Drummond, and how they will be home in less than a day, after the storm ends. He walks over to the pan and starts a fire. The fire created a mass of heat, more than Aeron thought it would. With there being heat, Aeron decided to lay back and write in his journal. He was keeping a descriptive account of what was happening, but as he began to write about Fairfield, he felt his eyes getting heavy, so he laid down his pen, and grabbed a cover. In moments he was out. With the storm still raising hell, the survivors were comfortable on the inside.
The winter weather has calmed down, the wind was at a comfortable breeze without a single flake falling. Aeron and Leo were still sleeping in the grocery store, being protected by the rope connected to a cart full of alcohol. After an hour of searching, Aeron finally found what it took to keep them alive for a few days, but on the outside, there was something that wanted it. The man in a strangle black coat stepped down from his f-150. He walks up to the grocery store door, and tries to nudge it open, but nothing was going to break the knot. He pulls the door open, reaches in, and cuts the rope. The door flung open. The male came into the building. He walks slowly over to the simmering fire. He looks down at Aeron and Leo. He drops to one knee, and picks up their backpack. With a knife in one hand, he opens the bag. He searches the bag. He finds food and medical supplies, he throws the contents into his bag, and goes onto the next one, but before he gets into the next bag, he glimpse up at the window, and see the machete. Without second thought, he walks over and grabs the blade off the window. He thrust his arm to see how, the machete, felt in his hand. But as he swings it, the strange male feels cold metal on the back of his neck. The sound of a gun being loaded echoed through the mans ear.  He slowly turns around, and faces Aeron. Aeron points the gun at his head.

“Well, what do we have here?”

“I am taking what is mine, and I will leave.” The old man exclaims. He heads to the entrance.

Aeron chuckles.

“You move, you die. Now drop my damn belongings!”

Aeron pushes the man to the ground, as he does the bag comes open. Cans of food rolled out, making its’ way across the floor. Aeron shakes his head in annoyance and punches the man in the face, he bounces back and smiles. Aeron places his hand out, waiting for the machete. The old man tries to keep ahold, but knows it would end well, and finally gives up possession of the weapon.

“I should cut your hand off, make you regret doing these things! But I am a nice one.” He drops the machete, he still had the gun locked and ready to shoot. The barrel was firm against his forehead, one twitch of a finger and this mans brains would be on the wall.

“Tell me, grandpa, why do you want to steal?” Aeron forcefully asks.

“I have a daughter….a wife….they are in trouble!” His body slumps down, as he sobs uncontrollably.

“Stop crying!!!!!”Aeron kicks the guy in the stomach.

“ARGH”

“Why don’t you go save them.” Leo asks as he gets up from his cot, on the ground. I am sure you can handle yourself.

“I am too weak, I have no weapons. I am here to find food and people! I have been wandering for days!”

Aeron swings the gun forcefully onto his head. His eyes rolled to the back, as he fell to the ground, hitting his head off the
brick ground. The man lies there, cold. He seemed to be dead, but his chest began to move. Aeron turns around and looks at Leo. Leo shrugged his shoulders and lies his head back down.

“What should we do?” Aeron prompts an answer from Leo.

“I don’t care, you decide.”

“Come on!” Aeron throws a can of vegetables over at Leo.

“Hey, fucktard….yes…..lets help…..lets add days onto our travel……”

Aeron sat down on his cover and thought about the extra time, and how they would be gone away from home for another few days. At this moment, the old man awakes. Aeron gets off the blanket and points the gun back at the man. The man held his hands up in surrender, Aeron tells the man to get to his feet. The old man follows the instructions, while keeping his hands in a surrender position.

“Who are you, what good do you bring to us?”

“My name is Les Featherfield. My friends just call me les, though. I was a farmer in Illinois for a while, but we moved here to escape the changing seasons. I have always been a fan of the cold, but we didn’t expect this to happen.”

“None of us did.” Aeron shot back. “What do you need from us? Where is your family?”

“Helena.”

Leo gets up from his cot, quickly. He seemed in shock that this man wanted to go there. Aeron draws back and looks at Leo.

“What’s wrong, man?”

“Helena is swamped with Crawlers. I don’t know how this man got in, but I can promise, we will never get out…alive…..” Aeron shook his head in disbelief, and begins to walk away.

“It’s not that bad, my group cleared a lot of them out” Les fights back, trying to convince them to take a chance.

Aeron paces back in forth then turns towards Les. He walks over to Les and lifts his heavy head so he could look into his eyes. Les had fear in his eyes, he was scared of what was going to happen next. Aeron then lowered his head and began to pace again. Leo walks over to his friend, and asked him what he was going to do. Aeron shook his head, not knowing what to do.

“Here is the deal, if we go and there are crawlers, we drop you off and leave, got it? But you give us half your belongings once we get there. If you run, you die.” Aeron offered.

Les agrees in great excitement, as he starts to shake slightly. He starts to walk to the door, but as he gets to the door, Aeron tells him they will be leaving tomorrow. Les wanted to leave now, but knew this was his only chance.
While Aeron walks through the store, Leo catches up to him and grabs his shoulder. Aeron turns to him, and asks what he wants. Leo explains that he is very disgusted with his lack of caring. Aeron shoves his hand off his shoulder, as he does, Leo falls to the ground. He is still weak from the wound, but he picks himself off the ground. Aeron apologizes and tells him that he just wants the stuff, and he doesn’t care if the man dies. Leo smirks and walks away, going back to his cot.

While the survivors were sleeping, Les was sitting awake, waiting for the crack of dawn. Though Aeron told him to get some sleep, Les had no intention to get sleep. He was fearful of what was about to happen. He had a rock in his hands that he found on the floor, the night before. As he lies there, he hears Aeron panting. He turns around to see Aeron patting his arm. Les sees that Aeron rolled over on top of a coal that fell off the wood, Les laughs. Aeron tells him to shut up, or to leave. Les shuts up, instantly. Aeron gets up, and tells Les to get ready. Les mocks him, and tells him that he was already ready. Aeron walks away. The whole time that Aeron and Leo were getting ready, Les was mocking them. Anytime they would put on a shoe, He would tell them to hurry up. Anytime they would pack a backpack, he would ask if they were done, yet. Being annoyed, Aeron walks over to him and slaps him in the face. After the assault, he didn’t say a word. He kept quiet until they were about to leave.

After grabbing the stuff they needed, they all walked outside. The snow wasn’t falling, and the wind was at a minimal. Les walks over to his truck, and throws his bags into the bed of the truck. Aeron asks if he was wanting them to follow, Les laughs, then offers them a seat in the cab of the truck. Aeron jumps at the opportunity to get out of the cold, for once. They load up the snow mobile into the bed of the truck, with help of a few wooden post. As Aeron sat in the warm truck, he was reminded of the good ole days, before the snow. The days that his dad would take him to go fishing, and he would sit in the back of his truck. The memories kept Aeron preoccupied for the three hours it took to get to Helena. Les stops. Aeron looks up, and sees that they are in front of the Helena city limits.

They circled around a couple of the nearby buildings, and parked behind an old bar. On each side, there were buildings with ladders that led to the roof. Three other cars were parked behind the bar. Each car was frosted over, showing the lack of people being around this area. Les parks the truck and gets out. Before Aeron or Leo could get out, Les was gone. Aeron screams at him, before he takes off after him. When Aeron rounds the corner, he sees his worse nightmare, Crawlers were packed in the streets. Les stood in the middle of the street, in fear. Aeron walks up to him, and tries to get him to come back, but he says he has to do this. Aeron reminds him of the deal, as Leo makes his way to them. Les lowers his head, but then pushes him and runs into the horde. Aeron screams and tries to chase him, but Leo stops him.
