Today will be a pretty simple post.canned

Today will be a quick (well not really) recap on one of my favorite nights, in a while. I want to tell you guys about my night, last night, and share with you why I think God is great and what to expect from me in the next few months, regarding content. It isn’t that my content will be changing, but with the connections that I was able to snag last night, I think we will be adding a few huge! Post to the mix up. Let’s get to the explosion!

I was stupid! That is easy to say if you know what I did two months ago. I was stupid then but I think I know better now. But the choices that you make in life have to be paid for. For my payment, I was set to pay 10 hours to the community, set by the nice judging himself. I was going to use those hours at Goodwill and just get it over quick. Something happened to where Goodwill flaked out, so I was left without a place to work. This is when my wonderful sister-in-law told me to contact her church, which is where I have been attending, well if you call 1 Wednesday, every other month, attending, then yeah its where I have been attending. I gave her mom a call and I got set up with the required 10 hours, which was going to be spent setting up for a concert/canned food drive. This concert was called “The Explosion,” and let me tell you, it was exactly what they said it was; an explosion!

I got to the church (King of Kings Christian Assembly: 520 S. Livingston St. Springfield, Illinois.) at 1:30 and was met by one of the nicest guys I have ever met. His name is Roddrick Lemar. He is a local artist that has so much talent. I fan girled, let me be freaking serious, when he started to play the piano, or was it an organ? Ah, whatever. It was so smooth, almost like when my grandma use to play her piano. It was so soothing. What made it better was that he was just as nice. He was headlining the show, yet he was there cleaning with me? That is a humble servant if you ask me. During the time of us cleaning, he was calling all his buddies, ensuring that they were going to come and get some of the radiation of the blast. I know he was playing that night, but I think his heart was more pulling towards helping the hungry. See, what was awesome about this event was that the admission was just 5 simple cans of canned goods. I feel like anyone in the world can find 5 cans of canned goods, which makes it a cake walk to come to this event. Also, all canned goods get donated to the local breadline, a service that feeds family’s that can’t afford to buy food, that’s awesome!!!

After cleaning, we began to talk about Roddrick’s future projects. I won’t spam in this post because omg we are already at 500 words, but I will let you know that we have some great stuff coming to you! We both are excited to work together and can’t wait to see what God does. Stay tuned my little Randoms! Oh! By the way, you guys have a new nickname; you are now my little Randoms. Love it? Ah, who cares; you will grow to love it.

Fast forward to 7P.M.; it’s the start of the show. I have spent the day meeting new people, enjoying the fellowship and drinking Starbucks. It was time for the freaking show, the encore, THE EXPLOSION. This concert had local and not so local talents. One guy came from Ohio, other came from ST. Loius. Long story short, these artists drove just to play at this certain show, but were they good? Let’s get to the numbers and check it out. I laugh at the fact that you guys thought there were numbers..Geez X3

There were a total of 5 listed artists on the poster, but then an added two once the show started, with the run total being 3 hours; that is a set list time of 25 minutes per artist.

The first artist was Melvin Campbell, which I had little to no time to watch, since I was still collecting the cans! But from what I heard, the guy had a great voice. I went to find him after the show to talk, but I couldn’t find him anywhere, which really sucks. Either way, BOOM LINK to his social media.

Artist dose! This was an in-house (added) musician, I think his name was Ryan, which was also during the time of collecting cans, so I am sorry if you are reading this Ryan (?) but know I was there in spirit. He was more of a gospel singer and man did he get the house to erupt. Everyone was dancing, shouting and just having a good time.

The third artist, PJae was the first artist, which I actually got to watch. He is local, I believe, and man does he have a voice. He only did 2 songs, but between those two songs, he was able to impress me. So much that I got his contact info, after the show, and I’ll be promoting him in the near future.

So the show was already halfway over, I believe it was already 8:30 p.m. and we still had 2 artist to go. Ntegrity was next (name is spelt that way, because he wants to leave himself out.) He is the one that traveled from St. Louis to play at this show. He was great, also funny. There was time to stall (tech issues), so he told 2 very corny jokes that made the house explode (see what I did there?) in laughter. He was smooth in his rap delivery and you could tell that he had God’s gift to do this. I loved his song “Precious,” which I tagged to his Spotify, check it out!

The final act was none other than Roddrick’s band, B.O.C. When I was talking to Roddrick, I thought he was a straight rapper, meaning he only rapped. This was not the case, tonight. His performance was something special. When I was in college, I got the chance to watch Chicago Mass Choir in person. It was such a blessing, because they were so talented, and really made gospel music fun. WELLLLLLLLL B.O.C was nothing short from that experience. If I could describe this band, I would say it was a blended delight of KB (rapper) and the Chicago Mass Choir. He takes the upbeat parts of gospel, and blends it together with rap, leaving us with the tastiest smoothie you could ever have. I saw more people dancing, during his set, than I did at my own high school prom. Also more sweat than a sauna, but who cares. Laugh, guys, laugh!

So all these artist, plus one lively Mc, which was a comedian that goes by the name of Justus Blessed (link to a live comedy sketch) helped to make this night a success. I counted like 74 people, I believe. Which was a great outcome since everyone brought more than 5 canned goods. I think I saw a guy bring in 48 cans of beans, by himself. But even at 5 cans per head, we are looking at 420 cans of food that will be donated on Monday! The breadline is going to be so happy, and think! We were able to feed hungry people in the area.

I am so happy that Goodwill fell through, because I wouldn’t have wanted to miss this night. There was so much talent in the room that even Kevin Durant wanted to join. We, of course, told him to go back to Golden State and make up to Green. With all joking aside, I wanted to thank everyone that helped by donating. I can’t wait to see the managers face on Monday when we drop these canned goods off. It’s going to be so heartwarming.

I wanted to end this by saying; I also got prayer, tonight. It was like the night that I got saved. I could feel God all around me. It was just the refreshment that I needed. I am starting to believe that I made that one wrong decision for a reason. I think I needed the wakeup call, so that God could use me in many ways. WE don’t have any more time to talk about it (as my editor is going to be mad at me for having this post as long as it is, but boom! Link to his page) but I will have a blog talking about that in the near future. Anyway, I love my little Randoms, and have a peachy night!

If you want to donate to the breadline, $20 dollars can feed 10 people! Boom! Link!

Nerf attack.

Nerf guns
Have you been living an adult life too long? Do you feel like you never have fun? I know I have, that is why we bought something today that will help with that. Nerf Guns are very cheap at Wal-Mart and so far they are really making Ariel and I feel like children again. This is good. Ariel and I never get to sit back and relax, this usually leads to a depressing and stress filled life.

Ariel was able to get a big pistol and a small pistol for less than twenty dollars, where I got the same small pistol but a sniper rifle for less than twenty, also. Now, we did get extra darts, but that only cost an additional eight dollars. There are more expensive/cheap guns in the aisle, but we decided to get the ones that looked the coolest without breaking the bank, that is.

When we got home, we pulled the guns out of the bag and set up a fortress. We told her brother to come down stairs and we unloaded the guns into his chest. You should have seen his face when he was being pelted with the darts, it was a fun time. After we attacked her brother, I turned on my teammate and shot her. The dart went too high and hit her in the nose. She grabbed her nose and laughed. I thought she was going to let me off with a warning, but she didn’t . She turned on me, likewise and shot me in the face with her dart. Those foam darts actually hurt but not too bad.

After I fell to the ground,  she got on top of me and put the gun in my face. She forced me to give up and I did. She then got off and shot me one last time. As she walked away, I pulled my pistol up and took one final shot, hitting her in the back of the head. She then came back and unloaded all her darts into my body. I ran out of darts and fully gave up, putting my gun down on the ground and shooting my hands into the air. She gave me a slight slap and walked away the victor.

This should be proof that you don’t need to do a lot to be happy. A simple $30 purchase turned out to be the life of this house. It is a very safe activity since it cant break anything, and we are able to do it together. I think I am going to wake her up tonight with another attack, but we will see. Either way, This was the beginning of something amazing, something fun.

Dear Bad waitress:

WE didn’t leave you a tip for many reasons, even though you thought you deserved one. The main reason was because you suck at your job, hell that whole store sucks. Let me take you through my experience and reveal just why we didn’t leave you a tip.

We walked in with a group of ten people. We are all generous tippers, that usually go off how well someone works. I have tipped up to 50 dollars, but I also refuse to tip someone that fusses about a group of people. Don’t think I didn’t hear your remarks when we first walked in. You didn’t want us there, because you didn’t want to work, so you muttered “Can someone else take this group, I don’t want it?” It showed.

We sat down and waited a few minutes for you to greet us. You didn’t smile when you asked how our night was, and you didn’t attempt to spark any kind of conversation. This isnt that big of a deal, until you didn’t bring us our drinks. We waited 15-minutes to get our drinks, well two of the ten, that is. You gave them their orange juice, but didn’t bother to bring the other drinks? My wife waited 20+ minutes to get her water, now that is ridiculous. Also, how the hell don’t you have sweet tea? Or milkshakes? I can understand the milkshakes, but sweet tea?

The drinks were redeemable. I was still in the mood to give a tip, even though you interrupted me while ordering. You allowed me to order one of my two items before going on to the next person. The chili cheeseburger was a pretty big sandwich, but I also wanted to buy a order of tatter tots smothered with Jalapeños, cheese, and sour cream. But I believe I dodged a bullet with your rudeness, because the hamburger was gross enough to force my drink down, quickly. This is when you lost the tip. It’s your damn job to refill my drink, as many times as I need! I shouldn’t have to flag you down to get another drink, especially at 2.19. My father-in-law never got a refill on a soda that price.

Finally, we didn’t leave a tip because of the price of a single hamburger patty. My cousin bought an extra patty, thinking it was only $1.50, but it came out to $4.59. We thought it was a bit pricey, but that wasn’t the worst part. The worst part was that you didn’t give two shits about our question. Instead you decide to tell us that you didn’t know, as you continued to check him out, without even trying to solve the problem. You didn’t say “have a good night,” instead you muttered a phrase that I hope takes your damn job. You were caught muttering “Ten damn people came up to pay, not a damn one gave a tip.”

You don’t deserve a tip. You were the rudest waitress, ever. Being pregnant I thought you would want your job, but I couldn’t see it on this night. All I could see is a self-righteous woman that believes they deserve a tip, no matter what their service is like. You are a free loader and the reason I will never visit your Denny’s again. You’re lucky I even paid for my food, fool.

Last night was a very good night. It was the first time that I ever went to multiple Haunted Houses in one night, and let me say it was pretty fun. Overall the night was full of jump scares, fog machines, hanging heads and chainsaws. This lead me to rate the night with a B-, overall. This will be a quick review of each haunted house of Scarefest!

Creepyworld- I gave this certain attraction a C+. This was a huge attraction, with a total of 12 small haunted houses, all in one. The biggest problem was the over use of Chainsaws and the failure to add more jump scares. There was too many open spaces that could have been utilized for their favor. Also, the jump scares were easy to call out. This would be perfect for teenagers or the faint of heart. I didn’t find it scary, but the creativeness of the different houses made up for that.

Abyss- This location was inside a haunted brewery, down in the basement. This basement was full of fog, making it nearly impossible to see anything. It was also really dusty and muggy, as it smelt like an old basement. It became hard for me to breathe with all the dust. The fog was also bad for the jump scares, as the groups were more focused on getting through the attraction without dying, other than being scared of “the monsters.” It took us twenty minutes to get through this certain one, and I would give it a B, overall.

Silo-x- I knew Ariel would love this since it was focused around zombies. It only cost five dollars more to get a pass, and there was no line, making it perfect. I want to say this was a great house, but it wasn’t that impressive. I think it would have been better if they weren’t just wearing zombie mask. It didn’t feel real enough, if that makes sense. Other than that, I got a few zombies to follow Ariel around and scare her. I think this has great potential for future years, and it is something I would pay to do again. Grade: B

The Darkness-  I have very mixed feelings of this one. I like how there were different sections, such as one section of ancient horror, where as the next section was about zombies/crazy people. Other than that, the props were too extended. We had a few situations where Ariel and I got hit in the face/head by props.(This was actually in three of the four houses) There was a bear that swung his arm into Ariel’s head, even though she was all the way over. This could have ended badly, but gladly it didn’t. Also, this event used fog machines too much, making it hot and hard to breath. We ended up having 4 people get dizzy after we got out, out of 10. That is pretty sad! I gave it a B- due to the different sections.

I really loved this event and want to go back, but I hope they change the problems we faced. If they don’t fix anything, then this will never be fully worth the 70+ dollars we spent per person. I had a lot of fun with the family and wouldn’t mind doing something like this again. I would highly recommend going, just be cautious to not get killed by the props. Thanks for reading!

When I was growing up, I was always listening to Country music. But now-a-days I would have to say if a kid is listening to music, they are listening to some wicked rhymes. I could bet money on this and win every time. The kids these days are wildly influenced by Rap, which scares me, since most rap songs contain sexual references, gang violence and drugs. But through all of the weed clouds, I was able to find an inspiring Christian rap group that speaks life through the darkness that others have caused. Michael Sullivan, the lead man of 878, took a seat with me and answered a few of my questions before his Album drops here, very shortly.
Mr. Sullivan grew up on the streets of Springfield, Illinois. While growing up, Michael failed to ever have a father figure in his life, this would lead to a rough beginning to his life as Little Mike was abused mentally and physically by his mothers boyfriends. While looking for guidance, Michael found the love that he wanted through the rough streets of Springfield, which led to selling drugs, theft, and vandalism. His actions were justified through the system, as Michael was put behind bars, this is where he met the God that he bases his songs around. Though Michael gave God all control, he still felt that he was alone as he battle through depression and addiction. Michaels faith was stretched to the limits when his cousin that helped produce his music was murdered. Michael referred to his cousin as his “Best friend.” With the loss in the family, Michael was about to give up on his faith, but even with him pushing God away, he was still shown an unconditional love that caused his heart to turn back to God. This was when he met his beautiful wife, Gloria in 2013. Thinking that he was finally going to have true happiness, Michael lived in harmony. But Glorias’ health gave up, causing her to have 10 surgeries, which almost caused her loss two times. With his wife in and out of the hospital, the young and happy family couldn’t keep up with their bills and lost their home. Michael was now homeless with a passion of music and a heart of prayer that would cause him to move to Florida to follow his dream led by God.
Before leaving for Florida, Michael began a group called 878. This name was very unique to myself. But then Michael filled me in to why he called it as it is. His cousin Christopher B Nesch opened the doors to this studio in 1998, in order for those who were unable to record due to cost, could still record. To Chris it was all about unity of one-another and the love of hip-hop. Chris formed the name when he spelt Tru through the numbers on a dial pad, which formed 878. This was to form Tru Rekordz, but the name had already been taken by another studio, so Chris decided to keep it 878 Rekordz, keeping the meaning in-tact. 878 was explained to me by Michael as “God is in the midst of us forever.” As the 8s on their sides are the sign of infinity, and the 7 represents the number of perfection, which is God. But 878 stands as a representation of anyone who represents Christ, and for those who are affiliated with them in the goal of spreading the gospel, of Christ, to the world.
Michael refers to “The art of music” as the expression of one person, and spends a lot of his time perfecting the beats that he creates and shares with his Partner in music Will B Loki. Michaels main goal though is to reach everyone that he can, which forces him to create content that many can relate to. This, he feels, will cause him to shine brighter as an artist trying to make it. But when asked how he responds to hatred by those who don’t believe in the rhymes that he spits about Christ, he responded “It just lets me know how lost the world really is and how much they are in need of a savior and makes me want to do my music that much more and spread his love.” His passion is undeniably amazing.
878 will be releasing “The day of Atonement”, which has a demo already out, in order for you guys to hear the amazing work behind the young group. In order for you guys to hear the work of 878, there will be a post tomorrow working around their talents. But I can tell you that with the heart and mind of Michael, and his inspirations being: 2 Pac, Lecrae, Trip Lee, Mercy Me, 3 Days Grace. You will be guranteed to find a song that you will find your head nodding to, and your heart being tugged towards.
Michael would like to thank these people for his success to this point: God, my wife, my family and everyone who supported me and I can’t forget about my dog Sullie nickname “Studio Dog”

I am ready!
I am watching NFL HQ and thinking about the next season. I am ready for the boys to get back out on the gridiron, but also I’m ready for the all wondering fantasy football. The time of the year where men get together and compare their stats, also fight for the championship. I had very fun time, last year, and I’m ready to get back in the playing field. I didn’t last year, but that is fine, because I’m coming back for my championship that lies the hand of my good friend.

This year, I will be doing a live league, compared to an old online league, with a handful of my wonderful wo-workers. The same co-workers that played last year. I am excited to be able to do this with my friends, and I cant wait to see what they have learned over the last year, and how they will differentiate their team to get the best results. I know that I have learned a lot from the last few years, and that is trust your gut.

If you are playing fantasy, trust your gut! It is important that you don’t overthink your decisions about your line-up. Don’t look at stats and think “I shouldn’t play him, maybe him, or him” that will just leave you confused, when in reality, you were doing just fine with the first guy. Now with your new guy, you will possibly get less points, all because you didn’t want to trust your gut. Now there will be times where you will need to make a educated guess, but go with what your gut says. If you think a Brady against the Bills is better than Fitzpatrick against the Bears, then keep your decision and hope for the best.

I will also be doing an online ESPN league that will be testing different line-ups, so it wont be a serious league. I want to see what some of the sleepers are doing, so that is what it will be for; it will be to test the new rookies or players coming off injuries. Also it will be used to help new players, which I am inviting whoever is new to fantasy to this league. This league should help new players learn the scoring, also what works and what doesn’t.

As the new fantasy season opens, so does my Facebook page; Gridiron Retreat, a website used to help fantasy players with their league, also to update football lovers on what is happening around the league! I didn’t post as much as I wanted to last year, but this year will be different, since I have a little more time. I am attempting to post everyday, hopefully moving up to posting multiple times a day. I don’t know what kind of effect this will have on Impromtdude, but once it gets closer, I will let you know!
