We have a launch!
It has been a few months since Halloween. It was during that time that I started doing FX make-up. I am fully self-taught in this artform, but I can say that I am catching on.

Well, after my biggest fail during Halloween (my failed zombie) I must have lost focus, because I stopped doing any effects. It was until, just recently, that I got back into it. But to touch base with what happened; Ariel wanted to be a zombie, so I thought it would have been easy. This was my first time working on someone else. I prepped up the materials, I watched a video of someone else doing the effect, I thought I had it. I went to do the effect, and I chose a different path. I knew what I needed to do, but I thought about another way to do it (something I never tried) so I did that. I didn’t like how the finished product didn’t come out well, so I never shared what it looked like. After that effect, I chose to take a break. I didn’t know that I took this break until recently.

After a while, I chose that I wanted to do another effect. This is when I thought about a sliced open arm. I knew how to do it, what I needed, how long it would take, and much more. I just didn’t know when to do it. Finally, I took a night and did it. I didn’t have scissors so I ended up hurting the effect. Mainly, I ripped the latex while trying to open it. Either way, I enjoyed this effect and it turned out great!!!

H

After this effect, I ended up doing a project for my anniversary. Today, is my anniversary. We have been together for 4 years. Ariel is a huge fan of The Walking Dead. She loves it and watches it every Sunday. I have been wanting to make, Lucille. If you don’t know, Lucille is Negans barbed wire bat. To do the project, I made my own barbed wire with just regular hanging wires. I finished the project and gave it to my beautiful girl.

 She’s a beauty 😉

Now, I spent a few hours with water colors, last night. I ended up doing two bruises

Then, there is tonight. I wanted to do something small. So, I pulled out my bone collection and started to play with playdough. I have a big project Coming up, so I need to practice with molding bones. This is why I made a finger bone. I am not that good, quite yet, but I am getting there. I think this is good for my first time

I have a lot more coming, I just wanted to tell you what I am working on. Thanks for reading and I hope that you enjoyed what you saw. Have a good night, as I leave to spend time with my girl. It’s our anniversary, today!

This is an old post, but I haven’t been able to do any effects this week, so this will be perfect to announce an effects giveaway! Usually, Sundays are effectsSundays so let me give you something cool to kick off the new Facebook page. I love to use homemade Scar putty and I would love for one of you to experience what I love. This being said, I will be giving away a small bag of scar wax/putty. All you have to do is go like my special effects page. Next Sunday, I will be announcing the winner of the drawing! When you get to my page, comment who you think should win the custody of the dog, Jack or Brandie?

Today we’re gathered together to determine the custody of Jack and Brandies dog. Jack spent many years taking care of little Toto, but left him behind with his ex-wife Brandy when they were in the middle of a fight. Brandy wants to keep the little man saying that he never cared for the dog like she did. I happen to be one of the lawyers in the case and get to defend Jacks story, I believe he will win.
It was two years ago when the couple split up after finding that Jack was having an affair with her friend, Melissa. She told him to get out of the house, to take all of his stuff and to leave before she put a shotgun slug through his skull. He agreed to leave if she would sign over the custody of the dog, she refused. But as he was about to tie himself to her porch and wait for the day she separated from her choice, she pulled a shotgun on him. She was hostile and was about to pull the trigger, but he left leaving Toto behind.
The court hearing started with the man telling the jury that he got Toto from a church-ran adopting agency that he volunteered his Saturdays to. The whole courtroom awed to. But he went further to tell them that the dog was abused before, he suffered a broken hip but with his help, he was able to walk again shortly after the incident
Jack told me that the dog was barking and growling at Brandy as she pulled him back into the house. Brandy was quick to disagree that fact. She is saying that the dog was barking, but not at her. She told the court that he was barking at him because he was about to hit her. This won the vote in the court room, there is something about a woman being hit that doesn’t sit well with the old jury members of the court. Seeing that this was working, she then told everyone that he was abusing the dog and that’s why she didn’t feel it was fit for him to be the caretaker of the dog.
I tried my hardest to fight the accusations, but they were to powerful. I tried to tell them that he couldn’t of beat the little Weiner dog because he was too small for the 6’4 gentleman, but her attorney fired back with the fact that he could have kicked the poor pup. That got more attention from the jury as they were about to jump over the railing and kick this man. Lets say that what happened next was not in my will.
I lost the battle for this man, and as the woman was taking the dog outside of the court room, the man asking for the dog ran up to her. He started to scream at her, screaming nasty words in her face. He had called her a thousand names, none that could be repeated in church. But as he was being pulled away by the guards, he broke the grasp, and kicked the little dog. I wanted to scream field goal as the dog was lifted from the ground and hit the wall, right above the broken clock. The jury went nuts.
They got over the railing as if they were in hockey or in a burning movie theatre. Funny thing that I say that, because I am sure that is where this man wants to be right now. He was beating by nearly fifteen canes and twenty purses, even the judge got his hands on him, slapping him in the face with the bible. I snuck out the back of the courthouse but as I went out the door, the man yelled as someone released the dog that he just kicked back on him, the dog bit down pretty hard on his crotch and would let go. He screamed loud as I ran to my car, even to this day, I can hear that bloody scream. I feel bad, but the man kicked a dog, the bastard deserved it!

This is an old post from my other blog, and it talks about my love for poetry. You should read it for fun, and I will be back tomorrow for week 9 picks!

“Can you solve for me a mystery
Of why things have to change
Why is life so complicated
Why can’t things stay the same”- Angela B.

This piece of work would have to be one of my favorite lines, in this poem titled “Change” Angela is dealing with the pain of having to change for a man. This line reached out to me as I read the poem one because it was the first lines, but also because it’s a personal request for someone to explain why we go through so much pain.

I honestly don’t remember any of the poems that we have studied in school, but I am sure that in Shakespeare we ventured into some kind of poetry.

When I think of the word poetry, the first word that comes to mind is “music.” Since I am a musician I use the same techniques as poets do. I form line by line to match the emotions that I have recently felt, or feeling.

I do write poetry, I would say that my type of poetry is usually more of a love based. When I get into trouble with girls, such as crushes, breakups or “the friend zone” I turn to Poetry, this is mainly because in poetry you can hide so much emotion, while still getting the main feelings out.

When I write poems, I do let people read them; they have to be close to me. I do this because for one; it could be a good song idea! Second, I do it so that the person can take up on my mistakes of dating and maybe fix their own. The last reason why I let people read my poems is simply so someone knows how I feel. I do this a lot instead of just coming out and saying I am in pain ill keep quite. To break the silence I will write a poem or a song to express myself!

It’s SundayEffects!

Welcome to the new segment, I am glad to see you and hope that you enjoy. Tonight, I will be talking about a slightly new project and what to expect in the next week.

I thought of this project while at WalMart roaming the Halloween aisle. I saw a see through hockey mask and thought “what if I put an axe through my head?” Now clearly this isn’t me being literal or original in any way. This idea comes from one of my most favorite movies “Friday the 13th: Part 3.” At the end of this movie, you see the main protagonist take an axe and drive it into Jason’s head, ultimately killing Jason, well until the end of the movie when he makes an iconic return.

I loved that scene, it is my favorite in the whole series, so as I held the mask, I knew that I needed to recreate the mask/injury. It is a pretty simple idea, but also really cheap. I bought the mask for .98¢, the three paints were about $2.50 (brushes are .98¢), and you will need scissors which can be found for only a dollar, also. This is for the mask. I am also making the skin under the mask and making it gory, which could mean a lot of money, but you can shop (as I did) and find the cheapest route. Overall, you are looking to spend less than $20, which is great since this design rocks!

I am a big Friday the 13th fan, so you know I will be rocking this very soon, but for now, enjoy this beginning mask and tell me what think!

Today marks two amazing, magical years with my wife. We said “I do” on this day in a local park. The day was pretty amazing, as we said our vows and ran for cover when the rain came down. The rain started moments after our ceremony, which to us meant good luck. But that is in the past, now we are living the high life. I try to stay up on my charm, so days like these let me prove I’m still a hopeless romantic! Trust me after today, I showed that! Lol!

I originally was scheduled to close (due to a scheduling flaw) but I switched that out with a co-worker (Big shoutout to Luke!) This gave me the day off, the perfect scenario to get everything together. I have been planning this day for a few months, so when I woke up, I was ready to get everything together. I had my money, my hat on backwards, and love in my heart for my princess, as I headed to Wal-Mart.

When I was there, I went shopping to get her flowers and a card. Though this was for her, I found myself also shopping for me. I found a big pack of pens, thirty for $2.50. It was a great deal so I got them. I have enough pens, but why not add more, right? Anyways, I went to the cards and picked out a cute card. That wasn’t the problem, the true problem came with finding the flowers. I was wanting a few dozen roses, but they only had 28 all together. That was fine, a dozen per year we have been married, but still Wal-Mart get a better selection…I was wanting a dozen of white and one of Red so I could mix them, but I had to settle for all red…How annoying.

After picking up the flowers and card, I headed home where I was about to write a sweet love letter. Ariel absolutely loves my notes, she says I don’t write her enough of them, so today I wrote her a pretty heartfelt and cute one. I then placed the note inside the card and sealed it. After the note, I went into the bedroom and took a nap. I was only wanting to take a half hour but ended up taking a full hour. Though I slept extra I was still way ahead of time. I decided to do some house chores including; Dishes, cleaning the bedroom, gathering trash and laundry. I surprisingly did these items pretty fast, leading me up to the departure. It was time to go surprise my wife at work. But first I had to stop at a comic book store. Ariel is huge fan of The Walking Dead and Darryl, this is why I went to a comic book store and bought her an action figure of Darryl and his brother, Merle.

I surprised her at work and asked her out on a date, she said yes. It was planned, we were going out to dinner at Texas Roadhouse, at 7pm. We did stop and get some small items, but other than that, we went home and laid around until the date.
We had a great night, the food was great and we had the coolest Waiter. This night was magical, too sad that it has to end. I don’t want it to end, but it has to. We have to get up pretty early, but I want to say one more thing.

Dear Ariel,
Thank you for being amazing. I didn’t think I would ever get married. I figured I was going to be the pastor of the weddings, never feeling the joy of my own. This was all until you came around. You opened my eyes to what real love is, for this I have to say thank you. If you were never to come around, I would still be a miserable, heartbroken teenager crying over everything. We have been through so much, but you never gave up on me, so thank you. I can’t wait to grow more with you. Two years is only the start, we have a big road coming, I’m glad to have you on this ride.
Love you,
Blake!

Ariel and I havent been able to spend time with each other. With work and cleaning up the house, along with all the side activities, sadly our time together has swindled down. With any extra time we have, we usually spend it doing activities that we like. She will spend the open time watching movies, as I will spend the time doing Madden challenges or writing.
Recently, she came up to me and told me that we need a night together, without being divided in the same room. The hurt in her voice woke me up to realize I haven’t been spending time with her. I felt bad, knowing that I have been selfish with my time. I only have cared about what I have wanted, not considering that she has wanted to spend time together. So we found something that we can both enjoy.
YouTube has opened my eyes to my love of Family Guy. After watching hours of funny moments, I have decided to go buy a few seasons, in order to get my full fix on. Luckily disc replay has all of the seasons for $7.99/season, which is very reasonable for me. I really enjoy this show, and if it helps with boredom and getting Ariel and I back to spending more time together, then let it be.
We are about to start the marathon, so thank you. Thank you for everything you do. Tell me your favorite TV show down below!!!!:)

Also!

If you love zombies like I do, then you will love what Deadworld (#Ad) has in county market. They are your normal sodas, but they are called “zombie sodas” and they have sweet designs on the bottle. They also have amazing names such as Twilight Shuffler and Rot berry. I think it’s cool, I surely hope you do too!

There is nothing better than a Sunday!
I love Sunday’s. I usually have to work, but the moment I’m off, I get to enjoy the day. We usually never do anything on Sundays, which gives me time to relax after a long week. Sundays are usually easy at work. People just don’t want to shop at Wal-Mart, meaning they don’t come into McDonalds. Without people coming in, it usually gives us time to clean.
Coming up soon, we will be filling our Sunday schedule, as football and the Walking Dead are coming back onto TV. My wife loves the Walking Dead, and I love football. She won’t watch football with me, but I am also a big fan of the AMC original. I am ready to find out who Negan killed, but I am more excited about the upcoming Bears season. I didn’t follow the Bears much last year, but this year I plan on watching every game. But until that comes, I will spend Sundays the same way I do now, working and working.
We recently bought products to clean, and when I say clean, I mean clean the whole house. This includes Windows, doors, cracks, floors, walls, and much more. We spent a good amount of change on cleaning supplies, but I am excited to get this house clean as it once was. With us working a lot, we don’t get much time to deep clean. So when we clean, we will only surface clean, leaving dirtiness everywhere. But we ripped everything apart, and now we await to get this house fully clean. We have decided to do it over the week, spending time everyday, over the week, and use that time to scrub.

image

I want this house to be clean, so I’m happy to give up some time to spend time with Ariel, as we spend the week cleaning. But until then, I am tired after night one of cleaning, so I am going to bed. I love you guys!

After 4 hours of driving, a few hours of adventure and a thousand memories captured, we are finally home. Today was amazing. We got to go to the zoo, then the science museum, and topping off the night with arcade games and go-carting. It was definitely something to mark down as “do it again” and hopefully we will, very soon!!!!

P.s. all together we won 1500+ tickets from the arcade games!

The other day.
I have been needing to talk about this, but I haven’t thought about it, while writing, so I will take today, and tell you guys about this amazing gift I got in the mail. This was the first time I have received mail from another writer, fan, or friend, so to me it was very special. It might seem small to some people, but that isnt the case. The fact is that this person took time out of their schedule, and spent time to make this gift. Size doesn’t matter if the gift is from the heart.

I was checking my mail, one day, and I found that this amazing post card was there. I looked at the back of the piece of paper to see that it was addressed for me, and not someone else. When it confirmed that it was the right postcard, I began to read the long note, on the back. The note told me about how the artist loves grapes. On the postcard (shown below), she drew me a pineapple, as she absolutely adores them, and as a child she would love to drink the juice. I love pineapple juice, its really delicious, so we are the same on that, which is also cool. She told me to keep the card well, so now it hangs on my desk. I love the card, since it came from another artist, and a fan. I love getting this kind of stuff in the mail, but this time, I love it even more because of all the effort that was put into the gift. She is an amazing artist, and a very down to earth girl.

In the note, she told me about her new clothing store that is opening soon. I wanted to give you guys the opportunity to go check that out, but sadly the link doesn’t work. I hope that she sees this, and informs us of what is going on. But I do know one thing you guys can do. GIPostcards has her own blog, one that she post her own handmade postcards. I would really appreciate if you could follow the link to her blog. She is very creative and has amazing ideas. The Link is Here. Go check it out!

If you guys would like to send me some art, or anything else. Please do send it. I would love to see your work, and anytime you send me something, I will write a post (like this one) about it. I am excited to see what you guys send.

Gregbjenkins23@gmail.com – send anything you want to this email. I will respond in moments, and I will try to have a post up in about 1-2 weeks. Depending on what is going on. Thank you guys!
